Profile
Environment
Not only lying in a very remote place in the mountains, but also being located on the summit of one of those mountains—Mount Xiá—makes simply reaching the Temple a challenge in itself. It's a fair distance away from civilization, with only a few small farming communities scattered across the neighboring valleys. The nearest major city, Port Yenai, lies around one hundred kilometers to the east.
Centuries ago, the Temple was built in this place deliberately. Amidst the towering peaks and untouched nature, students can dedicate themselves to their studies entirely, free from the distractions of modernity and urban life.
At the foot of Mount Xiá lies the Valley of Wonders, an ancient place filled with strange, otherworldly creatures and anomalies. It's been this way for as long as anyone can remember, even before the Temple was built. Anyone is welcome to traverse and explore this valley without worry as long as they don’t threaten its inhabitants—most of them are benevolent by nature and live in harmony with the Temple's residents. This unique bond between the mystical beings and the people of the Temple has endured for generations.
overview
Red Sky Temple is situated in the remote mountains, perched on the summit of Mount Xiá, and it’s home to humans and anthropomorphic animals alike. Although it retains the name of a temple, it now functions primarily as an academy, teaching the art of Kung Fu and instructing the students in its principles and techniques. Aside from that, the Temple also offers assistance and direction to those aspiring to become better magic-users.
In addition to its sacred halls, the Temple also encompasses a training hall and outside training grounds—areas dedicated to honing the physical and martial skills of its students—as well as a dormitory.
The head of the Temple is Master Pai Zi, who is also Yang’s adoptive father.
Notes
- Somewhat inspired by Shaolin Kung Fu schools like this one.
- I imagine the temple grounds looking similar to those of Yuelu Academy in Changsha. Do look it up if you have the time :]

Teachings
Students at Red Sky are trained in three aspects.
1. Physical Fitness, which is about building a strong and healthy body through exercises and training.
2. Mental Strength, which is about sharpening the mind, fostering qualities like perseverance and humility, and encouraging a philosophical understanding of the universe.
3. Combat, which, while essential, is the last resort in Chinese martial arts. Traditionally, violence was used only in life-threatening situations, and peaceful resolutions were preferred.
