Appearance
Delta is quite large for a harpy, towering over most of her kind when standing up. She is proud of her vibrant black, white and orange plumage and bright beak cask, all of which she takes diligent care of. Even though she is quite strong, her chubby body and spindly limbs give off an impression of a rather laid-back lifestyle.

Nestling/Fledgeling
Delta was orphaned quite young by a savage Northern Kingdom skirmish on her birth family's home village. As an adult, she remembers her father only barely, mixed with staggering emotion and a sense memory of a hard fall. Her mother is even more difficult to recall, both their memories being clouded by the pain of their loss. She has been told about how she was found in the undergrowth under what was assumed to be their nesting tree, most likely having been hidden there by their parents. Delta doesn’t think this quite matches what she believes happened that day, but she doesn’t really have any reason to challenge the official ruling of the events. After spending a short time at an orphanage, she was adopted by River, a gentle and generous harpy with a small fruit orchard. He already had a son of his own, Brook, but after the passing of his mate decided to open his home to more children who lost their families in the war. A few years later they were joined by Cascade, a fiery young harpy from the western border.

Subadult
Delta attended the basic schooling provided at the nearby town with her siblings. She did well in crafts and got top marks in her martial training, both achievements thanks to her quick and dexterous arms. Hunting training went much more poorly for her, though she did end up passing the evaluation, absolutely by honest means, definitely not by trading in any woven items with another student for fish. Absolutely. Being somewhat of a social butterfly, Delta got along swimmingly with most of her peers. She made particularly fast friends with a small harpy by the name of Strelitzia, bonding over their love for beautiful fabrics and embroidery. They still keep in touch to this day, even though Strelitzia decided to pursue creating these items and Delta went more in the direction of owning and selling them.

Young Adult
After finishing her apprenticeship under a local merchant, Delta started her own business selling accessories and soon expanding into other textiles and custom works. She made connections all over the Rainforest Kingdom, becoming known for both her big personality and the quality of her products. Being a newcomer in the upper circles, Delta knew that most of the old, well established houses didn’t take her quite as seriously as she would have preferred. So, she did what all rich people do when they want to appear more legitimate; she funded the war effort.

Mature Adult
As the years of war rolled on, she proved herself quite adept at politics, always knowing the things to say to get her way, and intuiting where a small favor would be appreciated and more importantly, accepted. Eventually, all of her social connections landed her on the Rainforest Queens court, as part of the Council. Even though she and the Queen often held opposing opinions on matters, Delta had to admit that the Monarch was dedicated to the well-being of her people. When the Queen passed away, Delta was genuinely saddened. The heir, now King Tailflower, proved to be much different from his mother. After seeing how eagerly he was pushing the kingdom to engage more heavily in the war, Delta started worrying for the long term stability of her homeland. Proving once and for all that her position on the Council was not merely thanks to her wealth, she took advantage of the new King’s inexperience and single minded drive. Carefully and subtly, because she was absolutely sure any direct effort would fail, she pulled on her connections to the allied Plains Kingdom. She knew that the Plains Monarch Wolfsbane was opposed to the war and had the influence and status to sway the young king, so she organized many opportunities for the two to meet and get talking about the state of the war. For a while, her fellow council members thought that she had become obsessed with it herself, as she kept bringing up subjects related to it (even just tangentially) constantly. After the peace was declared, however, Delta dropped the subject like a hot stone. She knew that a more discerning eye would catch her out quickly, and most avus didn’t look kindly on such overt manipulation of the political spheres, even by a Council member such as herself. To most of the other Council members and Captains she seems like a peace-loving harpy, with all her talk of the cost of war. In fact, she isn’t at all opposed to the war starting up again, as long as it isn’t conducted as foolishly as she believes the King might have done.
