Paesri is not Samsol's biological father, but instead started dating the prior Samsol, her mother. Paesri was always off in an odd way - emotionally welcoming and considerate when no one was. Many consiered him to be the potentially weak link of the chain and yet Paesri was surprisingly stable. No matter what happened, Paesri would brush it off and rebuild it back again to the best of his abilities.

Samsol looked up to him and liked him quite a bit, even if she couldn't really always understand why he did what he did. A good example of such was her inability to understand why Paesri stayed with her mother.

Her father, whilst having proven himself able to live in this sort fo environment, she sensed that his relationship with her mother didn't allow him to fully live as he wanted. Once she became a teen, she asked her father to leave her mother, arguing that they were growing apart and that one of these days her mother was going to do something regretable to him. Paesri agreed to do as much for Samsol's sake, citing that he was mainly still around to be around Samsol and that if she'd rather he left, he would. So he did.
As a parting gift Paesri gave her a magical necklace, saying she should hold it and think of him if she ever wanted his help and if she did, he would come as soon as she could. Samsol appreciated the gesture, but as time went on, she never used it. After all, she could easily handle herself. They still occasionally saw each other though as Paesri would visit every couple of years, never seeming to age himself.

Long after she had become the Samsol, Samsol ended up in prison. Not for any of her bigger crimes, but it did mean she had to serve around a year behind bars. Out of curiosity and boredom, she used her necklace, only to find out that he had been very serious when he had promised he'd come to her. Though it took a while, Paesri somehow manages to get himself in prison with her and ended up keeping her company for her time there. During that time, Paesri and her got to spend some pretty good quality time and talk over both of their individual lives.

After that incident, Samsol and Paesri went back to how they were before, though with a strengthened bond. Once Samsol learned about her father's true identity in mor details, she has also become more thorough about the vetting of what creatures that leaves through Brakesh's border in general.
