Simon Light

Personality

Simon is an outgoing, friendly guy. He'd make a good tour guide so if you need directions, he'll help you get there. He talks and moves fast though. He used to be the "scary" one but Rook, Floyd, and Malleus in a way, already dethrone him in that department. He's only "scary" because most don't expect him to be around so when he makes himself known even with a simple greeting, everyone gets startled like they're in a horror game or haunted house attraction.

He hates it when there's garbage, something that has developed from living in the part of the ocean where sunlight doesn't reach and it's deep where humans don't see. Because of this, he's interested in the environmental science field and tackling water pollution.

When it comes to student life in NRC, Simon does just fine. He's not in danger of failing or anything. If you try to look for him in Mostro Lounge, you won't find him because he doesn't work as waiter or chef. He actually helps set up the place for opening and closing, the times where people don't see him.

Magic

His in-game primary elemental magic is Water, with Flora coming in second. His Cosmic magic is Dark (even though Light would be fitting but he's twisted from an antagonist).

He has high magic stamina and efficiency. His spells tends to be at enough power needed and no more unless necessary so his conservation of magic ends up looking like he's only doing the bare minimum.

His Unique Magic, Luring Light (魅惑の輝き; ルアーリング・ライト, Ruaring Raito; lit. "fascinating light"), produces a floating light that draws the attention of those within the vicinity, compelling them to stare at it, even approach it. The person can resist the urge if they have a strong will. This UM is best used in dark locations where it will easily stand out. It can hurt people's eyes if too bright or stared at for too long.

• He is supposed to be chubby. If using the male drawing figure in Clip Studio Paint, adjust the full body figure by 8 up and 30 right.
• His hair is a buzzcut. He doesn't intend on growing it out.
• As for what type of anglerfish he is, I can't narrow down the species of the one from Finding Nemo so I went with a pacific footballfish to be close in color.
• Yes, female anglerfishes have lures. He hasn't opted to undergo gender-reaffirming surgery. He will destroy transphobes.
• He likes Furbies and thinks they're cute. Yes, he knows about the horrors but finds that funny.
• He can play the conch. He has a tambourine, kazoo, and soundboard.
• Azul had a hard time figuring out where Simon should work as part of Mostro Lounge staff. Most students couldn't work with him, so he couldn't be a waiter or receptionist. When he got assigned to bouncer through whatever mental gymnastics Azul had, Simon gave his grievance that he didn't want to "stand in the corner and look pretty" and he wanted to really do something, which Azul couldn't object to unless he wanted another Floyd. Azul tried to put him in the kitchen but he's not good at cooking. Now his role is setting up the place at opening and closing. Azul laments that if it were easier for others to interact with him, Simon would be good to have as staff.
• He's not good at cooking. He can use a microwave but he can't cook from scratch without instructions.
• He would be the type of guy who out-horrors the horror without trying.
• If you showed him Disney films, his favorite would be Pixar film "WALL-E". As for which Disney Princess film, it's either "The Little Mermaid" or "Tangled".

• His name comes from the game "Simon Says" where players follow the orders of someone designated "Simon" and remain playing if "Simon" says "Simon says" before giving the order and the player follows it. "Simon" is also the name of a game involving an electronic device that plays a sequence of red, yellow, green, and blue lights, and the player has to repeat that sequence.

Story

Background

He lives deep in the sea where the sunlight can't reach. He has grown annoyed at the things that have fallen into the sea from the world above the water... and environmental laws are strict so in his eyes, there shouldn't be any excuse! He's thinking about working in environmental science with a focus on cleaning up the water and mitigating or undoing environmental damage. But he wasn't interested in the human world. When he got the invitation to Night Raven College, his family encouraged him to go and he gave in.

Prologue

He was amused at the sight. That didn't happen last year!

Book I

He cameos during lunch and that's it.

Book II

He wasn't targeted. He would have been but Ruggie never had a chance to when he couldn't find him. Simon, completely unscathed from whatever happened, played Spelldrive without a care in the world.

Book III

When ~225 students were "recruited" to Mostro Lounge, he was excited at the chance to make friends. He didn't get much time as Yuu eventually made the contract to free them. But it was worth a shot! He doesn't hold this against Yuu. Maybe he'll try making friends with them!

Book IV

He was away for winter break.

As part of the Light Music Club, he performed.

He was shaken when S.T.Y.X. attacked.
