Character

History

Chase was born in a small town in Virginia where he lived with his parents. He lived out a relatively normal life, or at least, that's what he was told. Up until the age of 7, most of Chase's memories are hazy.

After ę̶͝1̴̻̎5̶̘̇ŕ̸̤o̷̖̐r̶̰̔ ̶̡̕E̷̤͆r̶͇͋R̴̢̎ ̵̝͘0̶̋ͅ4̵́͜5̷͋ͅ0̴̞̋R̶͔̓ Chase went several months without saying a word and eating less. During that time, he gained a love of science since it kept him busy and not thinking about what happened while also developing insomnia. His insomnia came from the fact that whenever he closed his eyes to sleep, all he could see was E̸̜͗6̵̬͛2̶͎͋r̵̝͠ô̷̼r̴̺̋ ̷̥̕e̴̻̚6̷̢̃4̴͔͗r̷̭͆R̴͚͛ ̵̼͗0̶͕͒8̸̡̇7̴͙̊2̸̯̔1̷̭͛Ṙ̵͉ It also stemmed from the fact that he was afraid that e̷̼͌4̴̫̐9̷̈́͜r̶̗͒0̴̞̚Ŗ̵͂ ̸̼̊ë̷́͜3̵̼̽8̷̠̄D̷̢̈́r̴͚͘ ̶͖͂0̸̠͛v̴̝̏3̴͈̾Q̶̜̓2̴̼͝Ŕ̵͔. It wasn't until he was 7 that he was able to socialize with others outside his family again. However, he remembered only fragments of his earlier years as he had seemingly blocked out anything to do with E̶̮̎1̷̳̂3̸̲̊R̶̨͌0̷̮̀r̴͈̎ ̵͚͑e̴̥͂0̶̧̃5̴̧͊a̴͉̓r̸̠̈́ ̷͕̕c̸̙̉8̶͇̔1̷̟̚R̴͓͆

Once he began socializing again, Chase appeared to be a bright, upbeat child despite what had happened. His insomnia continued to persist however. But Chase only used this to his advantage, using it as time to study. It was around middle school while talking to his friends that he realized that he didn't seem to have dreams during the few times that he managed to sleep for a while, which made him curious as to why. This made him turn to science for answers. When he wasn't able to find any satisfactory answers, he took it upon himself to find them which lead him to the studying of oneirology as well as some neurology. The studies he did were limited as he didn't have any equipment to properly study it, having to get by on observing the physical condition of the person sleeping and testimonies. While his studies weren't fully recognized, they still gained the attention of scientists for his deductions, even while lacking the proper facilities. When he was offered a spot at Hope's Peak, Chase jumped at the chance to finally be able to fully test his theories.
