Narumi (生)

Thou art Naru. Thy vessel, Sei. Come!

Izanagi created the land by dipping a spear into the waters and allowing each drop to subsequently fall to create each island.
The memory of such long years past make this more grandiose than they perhaps actually were. All he remembers is a sea of golden hair floating above him, and the sudden appearance of the name over his breast. He was a wind spirit, little more than a diligent little sprite who looked up to the gods with incorporeal eyes. But somehow, in that, Izanagi found him worthy of a human form and of further use than the whispers of breezes.
The islands were not, in fact, created by him for he existed before them, but they are a lovely image instilled in his mind, stories woven by the fingers of his master's worshippers.

What he does remember is the birth of many more deities, joyous celebrations coming forth from both parents, and he finds himself humbled by the experience, despite being a simple naginata at his master's side.
It's not until Izanami-no-Mikoto bears their last child that ruin befalls their idyllic lives and it all changes for naught.

He'd never seen such despair in Izanagi's features. He'd never seen his face balk, his eyes look so dull, upon seeing the dead body of his betrothed. What the stories don't tell you is how a newborn god is still a god, and how a newborn god is not keen on being slain. Though perhaps the first strike was taken by Izanagi-no-Mikoto, the slighted Kagu-tsuchi took it upon himself to nearly kill his sire, and in the process, Narumi was broken after throwing himself between the warring gods in an attempt to save his master's life.

Thus was born the fabled Totsuka-no-Tsurugi, Ama-no-Ohabari, a dual ended Naginata which eventually slew Kagu-tsuchi, further cracking Izanagi's already breaking heart.
