Tool is Smith's inner voice/spirit created from the time split. Tool is softer than most Illagers, but is capable of holding his own. Tool only listens to Rose and will always remind her of his undying love for her. He can be a bit of a coward at most times, but when it comes to Rose it seems as though he was never cowardly at all and he bravely runs into a fight she commands.

Tool is, for the most part, frightened of Hawk and his quirky craziness. He tries to keep hawk in line but even Rose has to use an enchanted charm to keep the crazy illager in line.

Tool respects Stone and looks to the Pillager as the real leader... Even though Stone takes orders from Rose, it's still a mystery who really controls the group; Rose or Stone.

Tool is considered a vindicator using an ax just like the real Smith as his choice of weapon. Tool is a bit smarter though and tends to have a shield close by using a small ax that can be wielded easily by a single hand, unlike most vindicators that use one big ax that can only be wielded by two hands.

Tool prefers to think things out finding ways to make sure that he can live another day, and for the most part picks his battles wisely... He will never fight against a Player/Hero if he knows he is definitely going to die.

Tool retains memories from Smith on how to make tools... But his namesake comes from the fact that Rose takes advantage of his loyalty sometimes...
