Profile

Ivan was an above average human shortly after his birth. He wasn't smarter, or stronger, or even really prettiest, but he could talk everyone into circles and make them think he was.

From a young age, he knew he was going to be a lawyer, and there was nothing anyone could do to stop him... outside of waking up finding himself in the body of a pokemon.

He had difficulties transfering his knowledge to this new world. He had just gone from studying for the bar test to being homeless. He had no money, no way of getting food, and no one to rely on. But he still had his voice. He was able to talk himself into home, job, and (albeit strained) friends.

His ambitions didn't stop at just surviving this new world: he wanted to dominate. And the fastest way to power? Money. In this world, the fastest way to riches was through Pokemon guilds.

None of those he'd corraled into friendship were interested in carrying him through dangerous areas, let alone mystery dungeons. He could talk for hours, but at the first sign of danger, he often chose to run, rather than fight. He was very close to giving up on the idea and finding a less dangerous way to satisfy his ambitions..

And then he met Dina.

She had chased him up a tree; he had been insulting to her mother and she was determined to make him pay the price.

Ivan knew she could fly up and grab him, cut down the tree, ram her head into the trunk to knock him down, any number of things to get a hold of him, where he confidently could say he had no chance of her not knocking some sense into him. So he did what he did best: talking.

He told her about his home. He sold her stories of supportive family, despite general doubts. He spun her tales of the adventurer he was going to become in this new world, the people he was going to save, the treasures he was going to find. Perhaps even they would find.

By the time the sun started setting, Dina had made up her mind. She wasn't going to let him out of any deal he'd accidentally made, and she was Going to be in that adventuring team.

Ivan could talk his way into any situation. And while he couldn't always talk his way out, he now had Dina to smash their way through.
