Profile

Starling (Stelle)

Personality

Typically seems relatively emotionless and blank-faced, but is a creature of chaos. Starling often engages in bizzare behavior for simply the enjoyment of herself or the reaction of others. She is reckless and dives into adventure, seeking validation from others and desiring to be a "hero". Outspoken and interjects harshly against those she disagrees with. Jumps quickly into fights without the negotiation expected of a Nameless and holds intense grudges. However, playful and more than happy to help people, although notably driven by materialistic desires.

History

An artificial human being who was created with the sole purpose of being a receptacle for a Stellaron. Stelle was named and raised by Kafka, member of the Stellaron Hunters. Kafka protected Stelle, taught her how to fight, and care for herself. Stelle gains much of her bizarre behaviors and violent tendencies from Kafka, even if it is very unconscious. She would call Kafka "mother" constantly, craving her attention, but she would refuse to allow her to call her that. Eventually, Kafka, albeit very hesitantly, gave into the path of destiny and abandoned Stelle in Herta Station for the Astral Express to take on after wiping her memory with Kafka's Spirit Whisperer. This left Stelle disoriented, confused, scared, and seeking Kafka, the only person she remembered.

She took on the name Starling in the Astral Express, and her story follows the Trailblazer's as in Honkai: Star Rail. In the Luofu, Starling sought out answers from Kafka but got little, and forgot to seek her after the chaos that ensued with Phantylia. When Kafka asked for her help in protecting herself and Blade, she did so purely to gain answers. However, her close proximity to Kafka and her Spirit Whisper, as well as the mysterious answers she gave Starling awakened some of her memories. When Kafka prepared to leave, she begged her to stay or at least take her, even calling her "mother", but Kafka refused- it was their destiny to remain apart for a while. After these events, Starling fell into a very moody state. She began to wear her hair and makeup like Kafka, even fashioning her jackets in Kafka's style. She'd often have erratic breakdowns when she couldn't fashion her fluffy and out of control hair into Kafka's smooth hairstyle. She began to acquire and buy all sorts of spider paraphernalia. Starling became more prone to violence and bizarre behavior as she remembered more of her mother. Recently, mysterious gifts ranging from clothes to makeup to trinkets have somehow been showing up in the Express at the front of Starling's door, addressed to a "Stelle".

Trivia
  • Starling prefers to follow the path of Destruction and often continues wielding her bat. She has tried to mimic Kafka's fighting style but doesn't have the magic to do so.
  • She has returned mostly to "normal", but acts moody and incredibly erratic, oftentimes breaking down when she is reminded of Kafka.
  • Kafka sends her gifts from her "conquests", and she obsesses over these gifts in very odd behaviors.
  • Will often be found standing in front of a mirror adjust tiny parts of her hair, makeup, or clothes, maybe even her posture to mimic Kafka.
  • Sees Himeko and Welt as parental figures, Dan Heng and March as sibling figures. Loves them all very much, but will always obsess over Kakfa.
Design Notes
  • Design it by HOYOVERSE and not me- some parts of design and characterization were tweaked.
  • The sigil (gold and red on left chest) is a symbol of the Astral Express, but was given to Starling by Kafka because Kafka already knew her destiny.
  • Sometimes will wear spider trinkets that Kafka sent her. Or will take off her jacket and put it on her shoulders like Kafka.
  • The locket on her left waist has a picture of her and Kafka that she doesn't remember being taken. It refused to open until after events in the Luofu.
  • Her golden eyes have been compared to the stars and the Stellaron, where she gets her name "Stelle".
