Sweetbrier is part of a shapeshifting plant species referred to as the Grand Perennial by other flowers within the Silver Lining. He had taken on a human form as to not frighten others, and because he finds humans to be interesting.
He is responsible for the creation of the Whiffles and most flowers.
Sweetbrier’s flower petals are what contains the magic to expand the radius of the Seeds of Caring, and even exhibit similar symptoms to the seeds.

Sweetbrier has long since been regarded as only a legend by those within -and out- of the Silver Lining. Records say that he is the life force behind the realm, and most inhabitants have gone on quests to search for him in the past, with no success.
Some legends also state that the Whiffles were created from his flower petals in his original form, but nobody knows for certain if those legends are true, or only rumors.
Sweetbrier disappeared one day after being defeated in battle. While absent, his powers grew weaker and parts of the Silver Lining began to wither away. As a failsafe, the Whiffles began to cultivate the land to keep the Silver Lining growing.
Not long after his entrapment, Sweetbrier escaped and made his way into a hidden area deep within the realm; he created a sanctuary in a far off corner of the realm called Rosehollow Mountain. He hid his sanctuary away from the rest of the inhabitants, and was let free once the Care Bears found his refuge.

No Heart

Stories passed down from the Elder Whiffles claim that the two had begun some sort of alliance after the sorcerer had mistook Sweetbrier for an ordinary plant and tried to pluck the flowers from his sanctuary.
Historical records state that Sweetbrier disappeared after a battle with the wizard, with No Heart stealing Sweetbrier’s shapeshifting powers and trapping him inside of his amulet.
Regardless, the two were always written off as being extremely close, no matter the historical context.
