Aether Angel, alias Xpider (pronounced zzz-pider) is the dedicated Spider-Woman of Earth-1716, who also works part-time in the Spider Society as a functional emergency nurse/doctor figure. One year ago, she was bitten by a radioactive spider, experimented and genetically altered in her college's osteology lab. This gave her bone-related powers. Chloe Silk is an identical variant of Aether on Earth-1761, except Chloe has silver eyes and more attitude. Their powers are as follows -
General
The standard powers for a Spider-Person -- i.e. wall-walking, web shooting, Spider-Sense, and physical fitness -- are all present in Xpider. Her webs are organically produced, and so she has no necessity for web cartridges. The web-shooters she possesses are under the cuff of her suit's sleeve and are not very visible, and are there solely to assist in her aim. As for the webs themselves, they glow with special energy -- more in the Bone Mending tab. The abilities also help her maintain her body shape and energy levels.
Contortion
Though not drastic, she is generally very flexible and can contort into smaller spaces/complex poses. For example, she can't turn her head 180 degrees, but she can hold a split as easy as crossing her legs. This has a very substantial impact on her fighting style -- her combat holds a sense of grace and involves a lot of spinal/pelvic movement, bending, and swiveling with this ability.
Flashbang
Xpider has the ability to "flashbang" her opponents, where her eyes will flash white with a combination of X-rays and gamma rays, stunning her opponent. Her suit eyes are mesh and able to carry out this ability while masked. The flash is brief and usually holds a double-flash (similar to a phone camera, with a period of moderate exposure and then a quick flash). In especially sensitive victims, this can induce migraines and general aches. Technically, she can flash multiple times in a row, but her opponent can quckly develop a tolerance in that regard. She must use it selectively and only when really needed.
Bone Mending
Her webs have mild healing abilities and can function as a cast to speed up/assist broken bones. For this reason, her webs glow, and as they heal a bone, they lose the glow and need to be replaced after a while. This makes up a major part of her role at the Spider Society, where she bandages up fractures and breaks with her special webbing and lets her patients heal in days instead of weeks.
Electric Shock
Xpider has an electric shock ability where, after rubbing her hands together for a period of time, she can briefly deliver a full-body electric shock to her opponent. The cartoony style of her world makes the shocked body silhouetted with a glowing outline of the bone structure. The shock wears off after five minutes but can be diffused faster with special contact. This ability is quite painless outside of physical reactions such as ear ringing and disorientation. This is mainly used in a medical context to give her patients X-rays and is one of her lesser used abilities.
