Maz's Links
“What are you doing here?” Maz’s eye twitched at the sight of him. It was hard not to feel left behind, especially with his successes outside of the Shellbacks. There was bitterness in her voice, and perhaps, some melancholy “Go away. You’re not one of us anymore, so LEAVE.”
If Korune regretted anything, it was leaving her behind. "I can go wherever I want, they don't own the docks... or you. It ain't too late to turn around and start anew" He knew she wouldn't listen, but it didn't hurt to try.
“Morris, you’re just a barnacle in our side; a long, selfish, pain in the ass — but you’ve been oddly kind to me time and time again. I hate you so much. We better still be hanging out together later.”
“Maaaaz, you know that there’s nobody I trust more! Even if I drive you off the walls and maybe left you in the dust a few times, heheh… I know that you’re feeling just as betrayed as I am! How could we not bond over that?”
“Magno is…cool. She treats me well whenever I end up in Zaun… I hate that place, but it’s good to know that I’ve got some allies there. Her crew is strange, but I’m one to talk. Maybe that’s another reason I feel I can connect with her.”
"I always offer her free drinks whenever she's around. Maz is pretty cool, a little mysterious but I think she likes it that way. We're both undercity kids, not easy living and especially not for her. I think we turned out alright though. I've got some cool shells in a pouch she might like, maybe I'll give them to her when I see her again."
“To hell with this guy. He just gets in the way of my crew’s business. Although I hate how much I want to squeeze his ears…”
"Not the biggest fan of her attitude but I can tell she's hurting deep down. A shame she ended up in the Shellbacks, that group is always causing me and the others problems. I really don't like having to confront her."
“The moon has always brought me a strange comfort. I just wish I could figure out why.”
“Stay steadfast, little one. Through your pain and your struggles, she has always been watching over you.”
Maz felt the urge to lash out at this guy for even bringing up the shark, but his adorable disposition was his saving grace. He kept her emotions under control for the most part. “Hard pass.”
The vastaya looked at her for a second before he realized who she was "Oh, Korune has told me about you! I bet you have a great singing voice, we should do a collab together!"
“I don’t like her.”
"I love just how much she hates everything around her. She'd be a perfect fit for Thalassa. If only she knew just how many people I've drowned to ensure her success... Helping Morris leaves such an awful taste in my mouth, almost as bad as squid ink... but it is worth it to ensure Maz rises up in this port."
“She understands how things work. I respect her for that. Plus, the sweet deals are…sweet.”
"We have a six feet apart at all times rule. I know about her water whipping and she knows about my vampirism. Neither of us have an interest in messing with the other, I appreciate it. Don't tell Hadassah but I've been giving her discounts."
“I know Morris has a rep around here and it’s costs the Shellbacks a few hits, but I don’t care. I don’t think much of her since she doesn’t give me discounts. I try to shop here when the other one is around.”
"I much prefer doing business with her over the eel. Maz is a good one, can't complain too much about her. I'm not giving her a discount because she's friends with the eel."
“A troublemaker that’s gotten in our way before. Ugh… She’s so pretty though. I don't like it.”
"She's quite mysterious, quite grumpy too. I don't regret causing some problems for her gang, seeing her flustered little face as I knocked out one of her members was kinda cute."
"The merguy got in the way during a few runs with the Shellbacks, yeah. I'm curious and I do find him...cool looking and stuff, but I'll kick him away again if he tries biting any of my mates."
Haolu could sense that this woman was much like him, untrustworthy of others and a bleak look on things. However, she seemed to have a pack that she could trust. That alone made him a little jealous. He had no real quarrel with her, but his fangs were at the ready if she dared to get too close.
"I know those three are dangerous. This guy though? He doesn't talk much and no matter where he is, it's raining. I've never seen him smile. I don't think anyone has. I like him."
"She doesn't like talking... She has left me a gift or two. Perhaps she enjoys the rain."
"Oh. He's so...gross. Dude. Coolest guy I've ever seen."
“This woman is foolish to approach me. Is she not afraid of what I could do to her?”
“He’s nothing to me. At least he knows better than to bother me.”
"I rarely disagree with Vivenaiphi but I do not know why she goes out of her way to attempt to get Maz on her side. It is clear to everyone else that she is making a futile effort... Still, I see the value in an ally like her. I attempt to stay on her good side, I have little interest in being hit with... sludge. Eugh."
“Sorry, I run with one gang and one gang only. That’s it.” Maz immediately turned away to start leaving, mostly to hide the rosiness of her cheeks.
“I know the kind of guys you run with. I ain’t judgin’ you for it, it’s a rough life out here. I think that water sludge shit of yours is handy! Maybe I’ll have to bother you now and then, eh?”
“Ugh, it’s not that big of a deal, okay? Just stop trying. What do you even want from me? What are you hoping to gain?”
"Look, Maz! I've been trying to get Hadassah to give you a discount and I think we're getting somewhere. Does 15% sound good? I tried getting her to go up to 25 percent but she wouldn't budge..."
"I heard about the Ferryman. Pretty sure I saw him once... No thanks. I'll stay in Bilgewater..."
"She would fit right in."
“Coolest guy in Bilgewater if you ask me. He’s got the weirdest stuff and it’s so cool.”
“Maz likes to visit and look at my collection. She is welcome here.”
“I’ll give you more trouble the longer you linger. Get out of our way or you’ll regret it.” Maz’s frown remained unchanging, frustration in her eyes. This chick was always a problem…
"Woah!" She quickly performs an evasive maneuver, doing a handspring to get out of the way of Maz's murky water attack. "You know, you're the only member of the Shellbacks who gives me trouble. A bit annoying but I always appreciate a challenge!"
“Saw her once. Flowers are nice and all, but barnacles are so much cooler.”
"We've had a single encounter. She was pretty, I think she'd look gorgeous with flowers in her hair... Wait. Forget I said anything."
“She’s a weird lady obsessed with some weird motion crap or whatever. I’m not really caring here. Though, something about her…doesn’t make me hate her.”
"Despite what most would think, Maz is a good person. I know this to be true, I have seen it in the way she cares for even the most despised of creatures. I do not think Morris fully understands how lucky he is to have her in his crew. Though I do not spend much time in Bilgewater these days, I do my best to keep tabs on her motions."
“Guy from long ago. Lev is certainly there, I guess. Whenever I end up in Zaun, he’s definitely not on my mind. I have business that needs tending to, and he won’t get splashed if he stays out of my way.”
"I remember Maz from when we were kids. Haven't seen her since though and I don't know if I really want to after the whipping I got after asking about her birthmarks one time. Look, with my condition and with Magno's... Can you really blame me for asking?"
