From an early age, Wanyun was taught by his clan elders that he must put the greater good above all else. That he must be willing to sacrifice himself and endure suffering to fulfil his righteous ideals. And so Wanyun’s concepts of self worth and self preservation are both very low. He has a very strict sense of right and wrong, and refuses to twist a situation even if it’s to his benefit. In his mind, if he has committed a wrong, then he must be punished for it. He’s very straightforward and never lies, even if that makes life more difficult for him.
To those who he believes he owes his loyalties, he is steadfast and would do anything for them. He has a cold and hardass exterior, but that’s only a defensive measure he’s adopted because he’s been punished for showing vulnerability before.
He sticks very closely to his morals, even though his morals are sometimes very different from other people’s. This makes him very stubborn and seemingly arrogant, because other people may assume that he’s all talk and no action, and that when the time comes, he’ll still put his own interests first. That would have made his life much easier, but unfortunately wasn’t the mindset he was raised with.
Wanyun never explains himself to defend himself even if people have misunderstood his intentions. He thinks that people should be judged by their actions and not their words, so there’s no point in explaining himself. If people want to know the truth, eventually they will find the truth.
He also never complains or tells people about his own suffering. This is mainly because of his mindset that he should be willing to endure the suffering of the path and ideals he chose for himself so he has no right to complain.

Thigh length straight black hair, pale skin, light purple eyes, black bunny ears and tail. Dresses exclusively in white apart from the red choker collar with a bow. White high high boots. Silver chains and embroidery. Usually a neutral and unreadable expression. Has a red clan emblem on his forehead (refer to refs).

History
Yue Wanyun was born the first son of the clan head of a prestigious clan of medics. While the Yue clan was famous for treating its patients well and being generous to the public, it operated very strictly for its own clansmen. The Yue clan raised its children to put the greater good above all else. They were but just civil servants working to ensure the smooth running of society.
However, when Wanyun was 10 years old, the Yue clan was attacked and destroyed by a demon. Wanyun was rescued by a martial organisation that he only knew as The Organisation. The Organisation was very controlling and trained him so that his medic skills could be put to use in their missions, but Wanyun felt that he owed The Organisation his loyalty for saving his life. Their brainwashing was extremely effective and Wanyun’s morals were now that his missions were the most important, and that they had to be completed even if he had to die to fulfil them.
He was assigned a partner who disagreed with The Organisation’s objectives and wanted to escape. His partner tried to convince him to desert The Organisation to no avail, but because Wanyun didn’t want his partner to die, he didn’t report his partner’s traitorous thoughts. His partner ended up deserting in the middle of a mission and the mission failed. The Organisation collected Wanyun and hunted down his partner, and punished them both severely before executing his partner. Wanyun ended up with an even more twisted and guilt ridden mindset towards his loyalty to The Organisation, and blamed himself for not convincing his partner to be loyal to The Organisation.
After that, he was assigned to another partner, Zeying, who spent nearly a decade slowly trying to de-brainwash him and make him realise his self worth. In the end, Zeying revealed to him that he was planning to join the internal rebellion that was going to destroy The Organisation, and asked Wanyun to run away with him. It was a challenge and a show of trust for Wanyun to prove that he was more than just The Organisation’s puppet. Wanyun ended up choosing Zeying over The Organisation and remained silent about the rebellion plans. The Organisation was successfully taken down by the internal rebellion timed with the assistance of outside forces, but while trying to rescue their sect brother, Zemeng, Wanyun and Zeying were caught in a trap and killed. They then woke up at Qianqiu Academy.
