Claimed by the distinguished Medarda Clan as an infant, Vanzant was trained and raised as a warrior, so his service began with high expectations. He outclassed his peer groups , showing incredible feats of strength, mental and physical prowess, and proficiency in combat. His early success in his teenage years caught the eye of Ambessa, a Noxian Warlord. When he reached adulthood, he was the obvious choice when the Medarda Clan needed to choose a new leader for the clan's personal guard.

He was a fearless warrior, so much so that Vanzant was often dispatched into the war-torn battlefields as a soldier. At all ranks, at every point in his life, he loved Noxus, and he was respected for that. But life as he knew it would redefine itself after a terrible conflict put Ambessa and her Daughter, Mel, in mortal danger. As the personal guard, Vanzant was blamed for this and In the aftermath, he did the unthinkable: he abandoned his clan, his colors, and his Noxian topknot -a mark of his once noble status.

Noxus is home to some of the most fearsome and respected warriors, and Vanzant hopes for a new purpose, and to one day redeem himself in the eyes of his people.
