He Is Always Fucking Staring At Me
“He is rather handsome, isn’t he? It’s hard for me to look away, I admit. A shame that he’s, you know…minorly disgraced.”
Shocked at the kindness coming from the notoriously stern Captain, Vanzant straightened his posture. What about him earned this soft spot? "Your sympathy has not gone unnoticed, Captain. I thank you. Despite all of this, I am proud to be one of Noxus' champions."
“I will not ignore your talent, Vanzant, even if your clan has turned its back on you.” The captain’s demeanor was still hardened and intense — but within his tone, something a little more sympathetic.
“I’ve heard of this one. How tragic, I suppose. Hm. It hardly has anything to do with me, but I suppose if he truly cannot find a place to settle in… he looks like he could lift very heavy things.”
Debauchery, huh? With everything going on, I could use a few nights of nothing.. Heh
“Hey, you know what? I like the blue guy. I think whatever happened wasn’t at all too fair, but there’s a hell of a lot of stinkers in Noxus. You think there wouldn’t be, huh?”
Vanzant yearns for reconciliation and the chance to mend the rift between the two Noxians, in any way. "You know, Remus, despite what fractured our bond, my care for you, remains unbroken. Should you find yourself in need of an ally, you know where to find me." He smiled softly and nodded.
Remus laughed mildly and stroked his beard as he eyed the handsome man. “I’m afraid you’ve left me confused, sir. You’re asking for healing, but it’s a matter of which one you want most.”
“I do believe that Vanzant could very well make a good assassin. I wonder if the matriarch would consider recruiting him… After all, he seems to be in just the right position.”
Hmmm. Admittedly, I admire Zurran's dedication to Noxus. He is willing to do whatever it takes for the security of Noxus. We are similar in that regard...
“He is strong and steadfast. For what had happened, I cannot find myself blaming him for abandoning his post — something I do not often care for. I envy his ability to choose.”
Shit. Remus. How could he have been so careless?! The soldier's face grew red as he drew his war fans. He aimed one at Anjali, "HEY! You! You.. You will Stop that! You will not speak of what you saw!" He shifted his weapons to the reptile, "or i'll fashion a muzzle from YOUR skin!"
"We saw somebody on top of somebody! Ooooo, how juicy! Isn't it amazing, Dhaval?" The snake slithers up her arm excitedly and comments on the action he observed. "Oh, positively wonderful. Really juicy stuff. I can't stop thinking about it!"
"General." He spoke, his left hand fanning himself with his golden weapon of choice. Even while in the military, Vanzant was sure to never be around Avalon unarmed, a sign of of his extreme prudence. Something about her struck him as concerning, but he never shyed from seeing her. "You're looking well. As usual." He smirked
"Cannon fodder. Nothing more, nothing less." She thinks to herself as she looks the man over, smirking at his hand clutching his weapon. "The next time you think of speaking to me, hold your tongue. I am no friend of yours. Not now, not ever."
"Admittedly, I don't understand you, Vastayan. " Vanzant sighed. His words come from a place of genuine curiosity. He thought he had everything figured out, but nothing makes sense anymore. "They think of you as a monster. Why prove them right?"
"I do not need to be understood, especially not by a human. Your job is to fear me and you should try to do it well. It might be the only thing that saves your skin the next time you get on my nerves."
Fellas...we must stay focused
"He's incredibly handsome and a brave warrior to bat. Do you think Raze would get jealous if he saw me slung over this guy's shoulder?"
"Noxus is a difficult location to grow up in, he was chewed up by the very beast he served. A very poetic beginning to his story. Hopefully he can grow beyond the walls of his empire."
I do what must be done.
"Yer a mighty fine fighter... I'm not the most versed on Noxian culture and politics, but I can't imagine the life you live now is easy. I don't know if I'd go as far as you do when dealing with enemies though."
He frowned. He didn't like to hear it. He didn't like being generalized with the other Noxians. He didn't like being reminded of his betraya. He loves his home, but it still stung. He didn't like to hear it, but she was right. "Then please, don't blame me for what has been taught to me all my life. Teach me how to "get loose and wild" as you put it. I...could really use it."
"Another brooding Noxian man. Always so judgmental of Zaunites. A man like you needs to learn how to ease up a bit and learn to get loose and wild. Don't blame all of us for the fuckery that Piltovans placed us in."
"Your 'lord' has twisted your virtues beyond recognition," Despite his defensive tone, and aggressive body language, Vanzant's iron will seemed shaky. Was he perhaps intrigued at the offer? An offer that could rewrite his shamenul narrative as one of power, and strength? "What could he possibly offer me?"
"Your clan may have turned it's back on you, but you have potential... yes, I believe you'd fit right in with my lord's army"
Under usual circumstances, the unbreakable will of Noxus would have been enough to fully ignore such provacations, but as of late, Vanzant has not been his usual self. "You...you pontificate on things you don't understand!" He was firm, but an air of indecision laced his tone.
“So, so much taken from you, dear boy. How unfair this mortal coil is to those undeserving of its cruelty. The pain of the past does not need to remain on your conscience; nor in your soul. There is a solution. Listen to the sweet melodies of undeath… You will find your solace. Come here, dear boy. We have much to show you.”
"Oh, now that's rich. Your hide would look outstanding on my mantel."
"Don't you have another house to betray? Carry on then, and don't bother me any longer"
"Ahem. I'm going to keep my deeply naughty and personal thoughts on him to myself. Just let it be known... I'd lick the blood off his fans for him if he asked."
"Aren't you...precocious. And, It's...quite alright. Thank you. I enjoy your positive outlook on life..I need what you're having."
"Oh wow. Did they Achilles dip you in blue paint? Love it buddy! Oh and sorry to hear about the trauma, that sucks."
Who was this woman? He had been hearing these same words from a few parties but something about her stuck out. "W-wait! Please!"
There was no reason for her to stop and converse with this fellow, and yet.. "Vanzant, correct? You have lost much but your life is far from over. This is not the end and you still have your chances. Do not feel as though you have to commit yourself to the standards and whims of people who would not have your best interest in mind. It is hard, but you will live, and you will find your way." Without another word she started back on her way.
"Vanzant is a good man. I just question what is going through his head, being so loyal to Noxus and all. Is it indoctrination or his true feelings? Only time will tell, I suppose."
“So what if you’re dishonorable?! Who cares?! If you’re so desperate for a purpose, work for me then! You work for me and I won’t kill you. It’s a win-win!”
