SCARS: No visible scarring. Anything that would be a scar is replaced with a silvery metal that has taken their place, becoming a part of Jude's body. This is primarily on the left side. Best reference for where the silver is located. Silver is effectively 'in line' with his flesh.
OTHER IMPORTANT TRAITS: Left arm from the elbow down is a sleek gauntlet with slightly pointed claws. Best Reference. He looks more muscular than he does in most references - he's pretty athletic and does work out.

PERSONALITY: Friendly, but a know-it-all. Strong sense of justice, a general do-gooder. 

Appearance

Jude is, for the most part, a pretty normal seventeen year old boy at first glance. He has short blond hair, light blue eyes, and an athletic build. He stands at 5'9" and wears the Starlight Academy uniform most of the time. The most obvious physical thing that differentiates Jude from a normal guy his age is his left side and left arm.

Jude's left arm from the elbow and below is entirely made of an unearthly silver metal. At first glance, his hand looks like he's wearing an armored gauntlet with slight claws. However, above the elbow the truth becomes more obvious, with patches of flesh becoming visible in between the silver. The closer you get to the shoulder, the more flesh there is. The silver extends in patches along Jude's side down to his hip, and up his neck with a few small slivers of silver appearing along his jawline. It's not immediately obvious on Manta Carlos, but would stand out in the narrow reality.

When Jude isn't in uniform, he tends to wear short sleeves which make the silver that much more noticeable.

Personality

Jude was described more than once as a boy scout, and while he originally railed against it, he's come to accept that yes, he kind of is. Jude desperately looks up to authority figures in his life, eager to impress them and earn their affections. He's not far off from being a teacher's pet, really.

To his friends and allies, Jude is a loyal person. It takes a lot for him to change his mind on someone, but after a year of lying for loved ones blowing up in his face, he's very hesitant about actually lying for them. He'll stand up for them no question, but he's strongly against secrets.

To the surprise of very few people, Jude does his best not to swear. He swears only when it's really necessary.

And to the surprise of even fewer people, Jude is... smart. Maybe not emotionally, but intellectually: He's bound to a god of knowledge. His memory is effectively flawless, and he processes gained knowledge very easily. He never has to read something more than once, and has an easy time figuring out cause and effect. Even more then that, he enjoys learning, and can often be found in the library, working his way through pretty much every book they have.

Active Abilities

Suit Up: Jude's superhero outfit was built to last, and it covers everything on his body from below the bridge on his nose. It's made of a special carbon-fiber nanoweave, and extremely durable, unable to be cut by a normal knife and capable of withstanding non-supernatural strength. Small caliber bullets will bruise but not penetrate, and the suit is generally resistant to the elements. It'll stand up better than it should to fire, ice, electricity, etc.

Shared Mind: Jude has access to all the knowledge of Giltenn, but actually sharing that information with others can be tricky. Jude has learned to share that information via skin contact, allowing him to transmit thoughts, ideas, images, or other types of information. Generally, this isn't a direct connection to Giltenn, but Jude is capable of doing so, mentally drawing someone in to allow Giltenn to speak with them. The person being drawn in can leave at any time, and is in no danger.

Passive Abilities

Godbound: Jude is the host of one of the extra dimensional gods known as the Gultha. In particular, Jude is the host of Giltenn, most accurately described as a watcher or god of knowledge. Giltenn shares Jude's body, originally bound to the silvery gauntlet that Jude once wore on his left arm. Jude can freely communicate with Giltenn via thought, although there's no way for most people to tell what he's doing or the fact that Giltenn is bound to him. This does have the unfortunate (or fortunate, depending on how you look at it) side effect of being very hard to navigate for those who read emotions, minds, or souls. Jude reads as a combo deal, and depending on the nature of the power, they'll get anything from a static effect, an overpowering set of thoughts, or an accidental gaze into the realm of a god.

Chosen of Giltenn: Having been bonded with Giltenn for a year, Jude's body has begun to adapt. He now has a perfect memory, and has begun to show signs of having what would be considered enhanced intuition, although it hasn't truly developed.

Hand of Giltenn: When Jude was sixteen, he was in a serious accident which likely would have killed him. Instead, Giltenn, previously contained inside the gauntlet Jude wore, fused the gauntlet to Jude in order to save his life. Anywhere Jude would have had missing part or burns, he instead has an unearthly, silvery metal. Jude doesn't have any actual arm below the elbow, the gauntlet having fused to his body completely. The fingers of his left hand end in light claws, but his left arm isn't any stronger than his right arm, even if it is vastly more durable. The parts of Jude's body made of the metal are nigh indestructible, allowing Jude to use his left arm as a shield when needed. Some of the metal extends inside his body as well, meaning any attacks to his left side are going to be less effective than usual.

Omnilingualism: Giltenn has the knowledge of a thousand thousand languages, and learning new languages come easily. Some are shared across worlds, allowing Giltenn to understand them immediately, translating for Jude mentally. For those languages they don't already understand, they will pick up the language at an inhuman pace. A few hours of hearing a language is enough for Giltenn to understand most things. Actually speaking using this knowledge, however, is imprecise - he's never going to sound quite right, since he's just repeating what he's told to say.

I Know All About It: Jude possesses an extra sense attuned to people's powers and supernatural capabilities. Jude instinctively knows the species and powers of anyone within thirty feet of him.

Weaknesses

Mortal Foe: An activated Ijian is the mortal foe of any Gultha, and Jude cannot touch one without suffering extreme pain. He's yet to encounter any Iijians on Manta Carlos.

Biography

• Jude is originally from an alternate reality--one where super powered individuals were public knowledge, and a culture of heroes and villains rose as a result.
• Jude was born the only child of Basilio Genovese, a crime lord and villain of major importance in their hometown of Halcyon City.
• Around the time that Jude was 16, he came to the realization that he wasn't content to take his father's place at the head of the crime family, and instead began sneaking out to try and become a hero. He found other like minded teenagers, and began to moonlight as Jude, a non-powered gadget based hero using supplies he'd 'borrowed' from his father.
• His time with the team brought about several major revelations: The nature of his relationship with his father, the identity of his mother, and more truths about his friends. None were as important as the existence of the Gultha, extra-dimensional gods which had come to earth following the fleeing Ijians. Once he'd learned about the Gultha, the cracks in his life began to appear, and Jude eventually was told the alarming truth: His father was a Gultha host, and possessed a night unimaginable power.
• Not long after learning the truth about his father, Jude discovered Giltenn, taking the gauntlet for himself and bonding with the god inside. While originally elated at being suddenly on the same level of his father, he soon learned that the Gultha were not as unified as they had been assumed to be. Giltenn warned him against telling his father the truth, and Jude added his bond with Giltenn to the pile of secrets.
• All of those secrets backfired spectacularly when one of the greatest heroes in the city attempted to kill Basilio under the mistaken assumption that Basilio was threatening Jude and his team. Unaware that Jude was Basilio's son (or even that Basilio had a son at all), he instead detonated in front of Jude himself, nearly killing him.
• Only Giltenn fusing with Jude prevented Jude from dying, but doing so did reveal almost all of Jude's secrets, and very nearly got he and his teammates confined for life. Eventually, they were allowed to return to superheroics under the watchful eyes of the most important superhero team in the city, observed at all times.
• But things were rapidly going from bad to worse. The Gultha were beginning to manifest, with every available hero beginning an escalating campaign of attempts to stop the Gultha from tearing the world in half. Even throwing everything they had at it, the effort wasn't enough, and the world itself began to fail, the threat of being consumed entirely looming.
• While the battle was never truly called, it became obvious before long that the battle was no longer sustainable. In an attempt to spare at least some, one of the greatest wizards in the world created a portal to another world, a way for those remaining to flee. While most of the adults stayed behind, Jude and his friends either went through on their own, or were pushed through, winding up in Manta Carlos to await whoever else would be able to escape.
• In particular, each found themselves near their closest living alternate-reality relative. In Jude's case, it's none other than himself: Angelo Genovese.

Resources

Jude is currently living with Angelo Genovese, his self from this reality. While Angelo is housing him, the school is actually the one providing for Jude, giving him an allowance and ensuring he's taken care of.

Jude is in remedial until September as he takes cultural and history classes in order to catch him up with the world of Manta Carlos.
