Andrew’s Notes: “Onion’s chimera trait is really interesting because it came not from the pokérus virus, but from being born from a twin egg. It’s super rare for two Pokémon to hatch from the same egg, though it does happen. With Onion though, when they hatched they hatched alone - as the twin embryos inside had absorbed into each other and become one. It’s why they’re labeled as genderless too, since one embryo was a girl and the other a boy, each with their own trait, when they merged they became the first example of an intersex Pokémon I have EVER seen or heard of in my life. Research shows that it does happen even outside of Keanne, just. Really, really rarely. As in ‘you have better odds of encountering a Legendary in person’ rarely.”
