BACKSTORY:

Once a noblewoman born in 15th-century France, Evelyn is credited with founding modern vampire society.

At the time of her Turning, vampires were scattered. Most lived lonely and dangerous lives, ostracised from society and barely understanding their own abilities. Evelyn took it upon herself to travel around Europe, helping her fellow vampires and spreading information about their kind. She united them, protected them from hunters, and encouraged them to seek social lives and fulfilment. Over time, hundreds of vampires banded loyally around her, and her name and actions became widely known.

Evelyn currently resides in a castle in a remote area of Scotland. The place has become a sanctuary for vampires with nowhere else to go.

Evelyn radiates an aura of quiet strength and elegance that may intimidate the people she meets, but is offset by her gentle nature. She is extremely sympathetic and tends to give people more chances than they deserve. She dislikes violence, preferring to settle things peacefully even when she is mocked for it. Though she considers herself a pacifist, she will fight when she believes it's the only way to keep her loved ones safe. She tries to see a good side in everyone, even those who have done terrible things.

Evelyn craves deep, meaningful relationships and is a firm believer in being open about one's feelings. Overly reserved people annoy her. Her relationship with Selwyn, while close, is sometimes tense due to his pride-fuelled secrecy. She's constantly encouraging him to be more honest (and is sometimes forceful in doing so). Though usually calm, she can lose her temper if pushed the wrong way. Outbursts of anger or violence usually leave her feeling immensely guilty once they pass.

Evelyn is very protective of other vampires, especially the ones that reside permanently in her castle. Her greatest wish is for humans and vampires to be able to live together in peace, but until that becomes possible, she remains wary of humans and does her best to protect her people's secrecy.

DESIGN:

Evelyn is an unusually tall woman with long, straight black hair usually worn in a braid. She has pale skin, red eyes and sharp fangs. She was 45 when she became a vampire, but people often comment that she looks younger.

She usually wears simple yet elegant dresses and gowns, with blue and purple being her preferred colours.

ABILITIES:

Evelyn has the same general abilities as other vampires in my world. These include high strength and reflexes, powerful healing, and the ability to shapeshift into animals. Her preferred animal form is a snow leopard.

Her healing ability allows her to recover from most injuries, no matter how severe, with no lasting damage. However, she can't completely regrow missing body parts - and as such, being decapitated or losing vital organs would kill her. Wood is poisonous to her. Sunlight and garlic have no effect.

Evelyn is skilled with swords and bows. She also possesses the ability to heal others' injuries - an extremely rare power among vampires.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Selwyn

One of her oldest friends. Though she loves Selwyn dearly, she is often frustrated by his prideful, stubborn nature.

Sargon

Once a friend, now more of a rival. Sargon hoped that Evelyn might share his ideals and help him create the world he desired. Evelyn eventually grew tired of his immorality and cast him out.

TRIVIA:
