From a young age, Mudan taught Mulan to fear strangers. Collusion and intrigue plague the royal court. The youngest could not handle this cutthroat world. Mudan protected Mulan from everything. As a consequence, Mulan is ill-equipped for anything. She struggles with any task (outside of what she enjoys), and scurries from onlookers in fear. If people do converse with Mulan alone, her timidity fades. In conversations, she is curious and open. But Mulan's inexperience makes her oblivious to social norms. Mulan's blunt inquiries cause irritation in most interactions.

Trivia
- Mulan used to be terrified of pigeons as a kid. She cried in fear until Mudan heroically scared them away.
- Mulan takes care of all of the horses (preferring their company to people), but only owns two. One is a chestnut and white Shetland pony named Aitil and the other is a palomino Clydesdale called Caithne. They're named after juniper and strawberry trees respectively.
- Outside of horses, Mulan loves landscaping with flowers. Her favorite method is carpet bedding, which she utilizes to give the palace gardens a striking appearance in the inner bailey. Mulan created an elaborate floral clock in the palace gardens with her skill. Her main indoor wintertime activity is drafting plans for next year's floral clock display.
- Every holiday, Mulan begs Mudan to take her to the Taipei Flower Market. If Mudan is not wrapped up in administrative work, she takes all three sisters to Taiwan. Mulan adores the holiday market: taking notes for inspiration, buying plants and seeds, and inspecting the jade jewelry for sale. It's the only instance that Mulan willingly ventures out of the castle's confines.

Mudan Hale [ Older Sister ]
Mulan holds a paradoxical viewpoint of her older sister. Mulan is never seen without Mudan, always trailing behind in fear of others. She appreciates Mudan's doting attentiveness. On the other hand, Mulan dislikes the smothering protection she receives. Mulan thinks Mudan can be condescending with how little she is trusted to do.
