Overview

Shingen is an oni from a fantasy Japanese world and belongs to the Takeda clan. He left the clan to see the world and challenge newer, different fighters. He eventually ended up in the Paperverse on his travels. Hates kids. His fire hair is actually a harmless glowy effect but stops glowing when he's underwater. Loves a good fight and drinking sake. Likes drinking tea with friends. Trusted by girls in a platonic way. Has a lot of money won from tournament fights and fighting test robots in Avangard.

Appearance Notes

His forearms and lower legs are a darker shade than the rest of his skin, but can shift and change depending on the techniques he uses. They may take on the form of armor or appear more streamlined. He carries an enchanted gourd that never runs out of sake with him.
Skills & Abilities

Fishing

Despite appearances, he's really good at catching fish directly just using his senses and strength and doesn't need a rod or bait to do it.
Healing Factor

While he can't regenerate lost limbs, he generally takes less time to heal wounds than most other people would.
Wilderness Survival

He can sleep and live almost anywhere in the wild, which is pretty useful given his nomadic lifestyle.
Furinkazan

Furinkazan is the fighting techniques of his clan, and he's pretty skilled at it, though he leans more towards the fire abilities than the other types of techniques (wind, tree or mountain). Unsurprisingly, his latent element is fire. Even if some of these techniques may be magic based, he'd prefer not to use them if he doesn't need to.
Creation & Conception

When people were starting to create multiple Paperdemon ARPG characters, I decided to go for less evil, but neutral is about as good as I'm comfortable with making my characters, so Shingen ended up being a neutral aligned demon. As for why the Japanese theme, I think my design sketches just led me in that direction somehow, and it looked nice, so I let it stay that way.
