Sir Lake Atlas is a history & philosophy professor, and a former knight-- a career influenced by his parents, who he spoke minimally with. He mostly served as a mentor for knights in training, and he was more fascinated by the activities that occured throughout violent times, rather than fighting in the wars themselves, developing an intense interest in philosophy and history. Eventually, he officially stepped down, going in to study the aforementioned courses.

While passionate, he is also quite stubborn and aloof, preferring to stay within his thoughts rather than social conventions, and while teaching, he lacks a warm, welcoming precense that many students seek. Generally, he comes off as cold, but he makes sure to maintain respect with the people he speaks to. This isn't to say he has no friends-- those who get past his hard shell are people he holds very dear, and can chat up a storm to.

Lake is quite content with his life at the moment, and teaching is one of his favorite things he could've done, especially with the addition of teaching the things he loves as much as he does, and helping others grow that passion.
