Disavow is a smartass, a lovable overconfident and self assured king of sarcasm who probably has a snarky remark for anything you might say to him and won't hesitate to roast you to oblivion if given the chance. He's very kind and sweet, and caring beyond that shell he wears of being a jerk- but you'll have to be very patient and understanding to see that side of him and willing to ignore the words he says for the actions he takes. 

He genuinely wants to help people and has a drive to do good in the world, but doesn't always know how to go about doing it. He also always wants a challenge and that's the best way to motivate him to doing something. Slaying demons just feels like his perfect middle ground- kill them, save people, then kill them again when they keep coming back until they take the hint-

He'll be your best friend, you just may want to punch him in the face every now and again to remind him to watch what he says.

Disavow was, in his life- a master assassin. Naturally, he didn't make many friends and as a result, he was dispatched at a young age and sent to hell-where he became a demon. But he found mostly there a massive disdain for other demons and the evil gods. Deciding- Hey, who said he had to stop? Instead of assassinating high profile targets- he'd just target other demons that were causing problems. Then he's putting his skills to work and saving the day. Really- it was a win-win. Dying was by far the best choice he ever...didn't make, or something. Maybe that's just what he told himself to cope with it. Anyways, he spends his time travelling, trying to take out problematic demons from the inside. He himself remains a demon loyal to the god of mischief- primarily because she is a neutral-leaning god who's more than happy to give him the power of hell and doesn't care if he uses it for good so long as he's causing problems for someone. Demons included.

He maintains his power in order to use it to be a menace to demonkind. Using his stealth, tactics, and annoyingly smug attitude to antagonize them away from humans as much as he can.
