Roen

When he was young, Roen and his parents were always on the move. They were travelling merchants, selling their wares in whatever town they came upon, trading and haggling with the locals for a living. It was a good life, from what Roen could remember.
Roen was only a child when they died. They had been near to where his father grew up, and his parents decided to leave him in his uncle's care while they went out alone for a reason Roen no longer remembers. But it was lucky for him that he had been left with his uncle that night, for had they perished while they were all out on the road then Roen is sure he would have never been found by any family, and instead been raised by the streets.

Roen's uncle was the strict and practical sort, he had long resented that his brother ran off with "that vagabond woman", as he often called his mother. His uncle had hopes of raising Roen into a respectable member of society - maybe managing properties or being a landowner like him. But Roen found this upbringing stifling - the texts he was to study were dull and snooze worthy, and Roen could never really manage to sit still.
When Roen was old enough to survive on his own, he left his uncle and "respectable" life behind, instead following in his parents' footsteps and wandering to wherever his feet take him. Somewhere along the way his fascination for fabric and clothing took root and eventually evolved into a steady way to make a living, turning his roaming lifestyle into something sustainable.
