Brooktuft - strength, endurance and support

Despite standing at a shorter stature compared to the majority of her clan, her musculuar build and oversized paws make up for what she lacks in battle. As an unfortunate downside, she doesn't do well with the regular task of fishing from the shoreline. Her large paws dont glide through the water delicately enough to fish. instead, she supports clanmates by helping them take down more unruly fish, or as a watch for any scavengers looking to steal the valuable prey. On lone hunting trips, she'll more often choose to hunt land prey instead.

Brooktuft- Social, wistful, naive..

On the surface, Brooktuft is a socialable, capable and promising young warrior. Though, in the last few moons, insecurity dug its claws into her and dug itself deeply in her mind. She has a longing in her heart, but she cant identify it.

Brooktuft doesn't like letting others know when somethings bothering her. She likes being a social butterfly, someone who brighten others days. She buries her troubles deep inside herself.

Brooktuft likes being useful to others the best she can. Being supportive is a big part of her self, both physically and socially.

Resulting from an unknown half-clan relationship between Mistcurrent and Heronsight, Brookit was born alongside her sibling, Dirftkit in the security and welcoming warmth of Riverclan.

Driftkit was born sickly, while Brookkit couldn't be contained by the den walls. As a result of this, their childhood was divided by the expansive plants surrounding the medicine den. Brookkit developed a healthy social life from early on, connecting with many of her clanmates.

In apprenticeship, renamed Brookpaw and Driftpaw- who had regained their health- started to become close friends, spending most of their training together. They refined their skills as a duo, a bond and skillset that continued into their warrior age.

In the event of a tree fall they were the two to identify the threat and properly warn their clanmates before it could fall into their camp. As a result, brookpaw and Driftpaw were given an early warrior ceremony at 9 moons, making them some of the youngest warriors in the clan. They were given the names Brooktuft and Driftlight.

KIT

From the moment Brookkit had her youthful, dark blue gaze set on the camp, she knew that was where she wanted to be. On wobbly, developing legs, she'd teeter out of the nursery when her mother wasn't looking, likely watching Driftkit with concern as he showed the early signs of illness. Tunnel-visioned on the nearest cat, Brookkit opened her mouth and loudly said hello, in shrill cries and mews. The nursery seemed to ripple alive from its peaceful stillness, a panicked Mistcurrent launched from the entrance, out with her flung an empty nest from the nursery.

"Brookkit?!"

Brookkit was the first word she learned, her name. The wandering kit turned, excitedly mewling and wobbling back to her mother. Soon, she was under the security of her mothers paws and comforting grooming as light-hearted laughter rung out behind her. A fresh noise to her newly opened ears.

As she grew, Brookkit sneaking out of the nursery to say hi became a new regular. She learnt new words, socialized and connected with her clanmates. The world was so large, and everyone was so nice to her. Why was Driftkit staying inside?

"Driftkit isn't feeling well."

Brookkit stole glances into the nursery, or the medicine den. The two places Driftkit always seemed to be. He always slept, and mama was always by his side. Brookkit asked for them to come outside, and mama looked over. She looked sad. Brookkit backed away.

"You should spend more time with Driftkit."

Brookkit didn't understand why she should. Brookkit didn't like being in the medicine den, and driftkit wouldn't say much. There was a lot of things she didn't understand. Like the conversations the old cats had. Brookkit would always sit with them like she was part of the conversation, partly because the older cats found it endearing, and because they couldn't keep her away.

Driftkit is doing better, Brookkit can tell. Mama explained that Driftkits vision didn't work right. Brookkit wondered what that was like. When Driftkit got better, they all started to talk together more. They were four moons old now, old enough to understand grown-up things better.

"Windclan is a clan full of harebrains, cats that want to hurt us."

"Stay far away from them."

APPRENTICE

"Brookkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Brookpaw. Your mentor will be Reedwhisp."

"Brookpaw! Driftpaw! Brookpaw! Driftpaw!

Brookpaw was smiling so wide, it bagan to numb her cheeks. The confines of camp were getting smaller and smaller as she grew, she was itching for more adventure, to experience new things. She wasn't excited to be taught more swimming, though. The last time she was in water, she came out in tears and didn't try until the end of the day.

She watched Reedwhisp and Hailmurmur from behind as they lead Driftpaw and her through the territory. She stayed by Driftpaw's side through the whole patrol, Partly because the older cats told her to help him whenenver needed. Mostly, though, she just liked staying by his side to excitedly talk to him in hushed whispers. They made plans of what they're going to do now that they're apprentices. Driftpaw and Brookpaw never connected like this before

Brookpaw and Driftpaw were out on one of their solo patrols, a training tactic their mentors decided on to get the two used to working together. Brookpaw learned that she did great scouting out tough terrain, and Driftpaw did good with swimming. Brookpaw also learned that Driftpaw was fun to talk to, they bounced off each other naturally.

Brookpaw disliked it when her mentor trained her alone. Reedwhisp was boring, Brookpaw felt mean when she yawned at every other sentence he dragged out, but she couldn't help it. At least she had battle training to look forward to, which was something her mentor said she was especially skilled at.

Brookpaw never would've expected graduating so early. Her mentor, and the whole clan, looked pleased. She still felt so small and inexperienced as compared to the other warriors. Is this really something she deserves?

"Training doesn't end when you get your warrior name, you continue to learn from your clanmates and experience. You'll do fine, Brooktuft."

WARRIOR

Brooktufts worries were drowned out with work, which there was a lot to do. The tree that Driftlight and her had identified was going to fall did, and a good part of the clan was in ruin. Sure, it was dissappointing to not have a celebration of their new names, but Brooktuft was secrelty happy. She could be hwlpful. She was placed in a group of cats tasked with helping remove the tree, and Brooktuft pushed herself to her best.

After the camp was repaired, Brooktuft was left satisfied- for only a bit. She quickly realized how ill-prepared she was for day-to-day warrior life. Battle readiness was the skill she honed the most, and she was met with the realization that fighting wasn't something Riverclan did much. She still didn't know how to fish, either. Brooktuft was frusturated she wasn't on par with the rest of her clanmates in other skills, ignoring the fact she was still only 11 moons old.

At twelve moons old, she had a run-in with a kittypet at the border. Its moking was cut short with a slash of Brooktufts paw. Cats praised her heavily for this, Brooktuft felt like that praise was undeserved.

Two moons later, modern day, Brooktuft's clanmates have started to help her figure out where else to go. She's appreciative, but also knows they're doing it because they can tell somethings on her mind.

She's happy things have stayed mostly the same with Driftlight. They still do their solo patrols together like they did as apprentices. As warriors, they only became more in sync. Driftlight is the cat she works the best with by far.

Brooktuft - Feathery, well-built, unique.

In terms of genetics, Brooktuft's unknown father plays heavy in her appearance. Her fur is much thicker and cottony as compared to most of her clanmates, which results in it not being as well suited for water. She's mostly cream with deep, rich browns masking her face, tail, ears and legs. She has gray eyes that have a small green tint to them.

Her tail has a light crook in it, causing it to curl when she raises it. She has large paws that are built for rough terrain and dealing heavy blows. Her legs are short, resulting in her being below average height.
