Profile

Odyess was the God of Life in the Form of Adaptation and Mutation.

She was also Ruler of Life as a concept, for a while.

While other gods of nature and biology existed, Odyess had reign over all of them. She was a cycle, pure survival instinct. The need to procreate, the need to evolve, the need to adapt, all of that came from her word. Even all other gods of nature, of plants and animals and the little cells on the ground, all were considered her children as she preserved all species.

Unfortunately, she could not have just been content with that.

Rott, The Worms of The World, The Literal Death. Oh how she hated their presence. Eating away at what should be hers to have, down to the smallest particles.

Odyess started to steal the dead, her sword being used to take any of the life left and put it under her power. Those raised up were not zombies, but the touch of Odyess's power could warp their bodies, new organs take the place of what had decayed, mutations on mutations to steal them away. So determined to make everlasting life that she would push rot out with limbs and vertebrae. Effectively raising war with the gods of death.

The people were with her for a time. Those who saw the infliction's made on their loved ones were horrified but quickly shushed by those in awe of Odyess and her "everlasting life". Why wouldn't people want to take natural selection to the next level, and create superior beings with no illness or worms in their body? Shouldn't people be happy that she's culling her own mistakes?

But Odyess only sought more life, more control over every living thing.

She began to go after those still living, they had more life to give for her "improvements". Lots of creatures became wary, animals ran from the forests, plants grew still when she was near, and people were making contingency plans to shield one another from her blade.

She demanded all of society, all of nature, and all of science to give up their dead for her.
