Aogstino was a woodcrafter in a small coastal village. Despite his stern appearance and short temper, he was a very kind and giving man who had a lot of love for his community and did all he could to support everyone within it. Notable was the time he took in a young orphan, A King’s Laugh in an Empty Chamber, as his apprentice after the death of his mother.

"Laughter" was taught all Agostino could about his craft, but it soon became clear that this silly boy was more interested in having fun and entertaining, often losing focus on work to sing, dance, joke, and most notabily, play with the puppets they created. Agostino encouraged him to take his show to the public and become an entertainer instead.

However, this eventually backfired as the attention Laughter gathered led him to be hired as The Contessa's personal jester. This was a problem, as Agostino had long been working in secret to try to help topple her reign. This caused a rift in his relationship with Laughter, as he refused to support his new career choice. However, his concerns would unfortunately prove to be valid, as the Contessa would use her jester as an unknowingly trap to assassinate Agostino and his group, then covered it up as a tragic accident.
