Lazuli is known as a "false angel" entity. They possess powers that essentially amount to mind control. Naturally, with powers this potentially devastating, they're highly sought after by a variety of different organizations. They have the potential to form fast cults, after all. Even controlling one influential enough person would be able to cause damage. Some groups after them wish to hold them captive and ensure they don't use their powers maliciously. Others want to harness their powers for exactly that purpose. Still others want to use their powers for more utopian goals, despite the potential consequences. They've been built up as both a potential hero for mankind, and the one who could easily bring about their downfall. Lazuli has spent a fair amount of time in captivity by various organizations, often being experimented on and used. They often find themself in a struggle for their freedom, one that they're determined to win.

As a person, Lazuli is rather fascinating. They are generally aloof, taking a laissez-faire approach to most things in life. They’re an observer first and foremost, liking to watch and judge those around them more than directly interacting. While not exactly cold or rude, they do have high standards built up from years of mistreatment. They hold a lot of pride in themself and those in their company, and aren’t afraid to be vocal if those standards aren’t met. They’re no stranger to being petty if they feel wronged. They waste no time with things that bore or annoy them. As they put it, they have better things to do with their time than put up with “trivial nonsense.” They care greatly for their freedom and independence, and are quick to shut down anyone or anything who would pose a threat to it. However, should they find something that piques their interest enough, they’re quick to chase it. In these circumstances, they present themself as calm and collected, and face even the hardest situations with poise. They’re typically reserved with their emotions. They’ll chuckle and smile, keeping in line with their usual nonchalant attitude, but it’s hard to faze them enough to get a grander reaction. They’re very much a “closed book,” in a sense. Though over time, it’s not impossible to get them to open up more. Surprisingly, they have quite the playful streak, and like to tease or make sarcastic jokes at times. While they don’t give away much about themself easily, they’re quite perceptive with others. They’re not incapable of being sympathetic, and especially have a soft spot for those with similar circumstances to their own. They’re a surprisingly good listener, willing to give advice to any friends who come seeking it. They have a way of making those close to them feel at ease. While they have high standards, they’re very understanding once they get to know people.

Lazuli’s strongest trait is easily their sharp mind. They are wickedly intelligent. They’re incredibly perceptive, and even the smallest details don’t escape them. Their observer-like attitude isn’t just for show. With it, they’re able to gather all sorts of valuable information to help them in times of need. They’re quick with a plan, and can improvise on the fly if they need to. They’re good at problem solving, with most of their insights being direct and logical above all else. They’re also incredibly resourceful. They know how to adapt and handle just about any situation. Using these traits, they have the capabilities to be very cunning. If they so chose, they could be quite the evil mastermind. To some extent, they do have this in them. Their moral compass leaves something to be desired, leaving them willing to explore avenues that others wouldn’t dare. While they have their standards, with enough pushing they can be surprisingly ruthless and cruel. However, deep down, they know better than that. They are a very paradoxical person. On the one hand, they’re rather cynical and misanthropic. They’ve been through a lot at the hands of humans, and there’s some part of them that would be fine watching the world burn. On the other hand, they can’t help being deeply curious about humanity. They find people to be downright fascinating, and they love learning all they can about how they work. They especially find human relationships interesting, and one of their deepest desires is to be able to find companionship. They want to make connections and be able to see the good lying in humanity, rather than only the bad.
