About
Breadcrumb was once the fabled ferraen of legend—they with a pelt of clay and sea, a star on their forehead, prophesied to bring down a great evil that would loom over the land at the cost of their own life. Instead, they chose to reject this fate, leaving Enurian's fate to the whims of change.
I should do my duty? I'd save lives? What about my life? Is that not important, or were you all so excited to make me a martyr that you forgot I'm living too?
Personality
Breadcrumb has a loud and brash personality, but not in an unkind way. An extrovert who loves meeting new people and experiencing all that life has to offer. It can be offputting sometimes to those who meet them and expect them to be a larger than life myth of legend, only to be greeted by a ferraen who takes nothing seriously ever, even down to their new name.

TL;DR Prophesied to stop a great calamity and change from falling over the land, Breadcrumb was lied to about the great personal price they would pay to become a hero. Breadcrumb was born to a small community living in the shadow of the Southernslopes among the Shattered Foothills. Familiar with the legend and recognizing what Breadcrumb had been born to do, they raised them on legends of what grandeur they would create, promising that they would become a hero and legend, weaving a tapestry of the kit's prophesied future.
As Breadcrumb grew, they looked into the prophecy more and more, discovering it to be partially a farce. That the one their family had told them growing up had left out that the prophecy was old—so old that many different translations and interpretations existed, and that evil could be death or could be change. And the second was that their family had conveniently left out the second part of the prophecy—that in order to prevent this great change, Breadcrumb themself would have to die.
Furious with this falsehood and terrified of becoming a martyr, Breadcrumb ran away, stealing the tapestry of their own prophesied death to use as a cloak to cover their distinctive fur. For seasons they roamed the land, meeting new ferraen and learning of the land they lived on, only to run away from their own fate and the questions and starry eyes of the ferraen they met. And their fate and prophecy followed in their footsteps, as Breadcrumb heard more and more rumors of something changing in the south, where they came from...

...until eventually they found the Changing of Days on a distant mountain peak, looked it in the eyes and decided to grant change mercy.
During Breadcrumb's travels, they spoke to ferraen and found them all desperately yearning for a different way of living, some way to trust each other. Deciding themselves to be tired of the individualistic nature of the ferraen, Breadcrumb allowed the calamity to pass, breaking the prophecy and sending Enurian into a new era.
Terrified not at what they had done but how the other ferraen would react, fearing their own death at not saving the land, Breadcrumb ran away a second time, disappearing into the vast wilderness of Enurian to live a quiet life unbothered by prophecy, heroism, or grandeur.

Once loved their place of birth, now apathetic. Tends to avoid their family's haunting grounds due to the animosity Breadcrumb still feels towards them.
Helleth . [ foil ] Breadcrumb was born to kill and die to Helleth, and Helleth accepted this. When this did not happen, the two fell into a sort of strange kinship, the only ones able to understand each other but also fundamentally opposite.
From the Dirt to the Stars . [ rejected patron ] Had Breadcrumb followed through with the prophecy, they would have become a saint of Laika. She doesn't blame them in the slightest, as she doesn't wish martyrism on anyone, and the two have a cordial relationship.
