new born Aya was abandoned and found by Lori, who heard her crying. Deeply afraid of star-shooters due to the stories she heard by star dasher elders, she took her to throw her into the river (a merciful death in her opinion), but was stopped by her girlfriend Aurora. Aurora managed to calm Lori down and explained to her that shooters weren't evil monsters, and some don't harm other star dragons. While trying to figure out what to do with the baby, named "shooter" she of course grew attached to her, and couldn't imagine giving her away. After 3 months, Lori finally excepted that she loved her, naming her Aya, her little miracle. 

Aya is an adventurous, inquisitive Star Shooter, brought up isolated except for Mama Lori and Mama Rora. It didn't take her long the realise that she was different to her parents, especially when Lori took her to the star dasher village for supplies. Glared at and stared by the star dashers, she started to learn about her kind, immersing herself in books of the outside world. Lori and Rora try their best, but Aya has complicated feeling towards herself considering her distant culture.
