About: Centuries ago, the Hemirsen family was one of the cornerstones of mages in Noxus. The family was known far and wide for their abilities and fearsome power. That was until one of their ancestors long past let his arrogance get the better of him. The fool challenged a demon and lost, with the consequences depriving the family of their magical abilities. Since they could no longer utilize their magic, the family's usefulness faded and their name disappeared into obscurity. Generation by generation searched for a way to remedy this curse, with no avail, and generation by generation would bear a magicless child. Centuries would pass and with it the family's accumulated wealth dwindled.
When Eriselle was first born, her parents had no clue that for the first time in centuries, they had finally bore a magicborn. Most conversations Eriselle remembers between her parents were bickering about their financial situation and her father's obsession with trying to get them "rid of this curse". Because of this, often times, she would just stick to her own, and found a particular interest in shadow puppets. One day while just messing around, she found a way to make puppets without moving her hands: by just willing them to move on their own. This of course changed everything for her, and with enough effort she found herself able to shift the shadow of other things, and soon enough, her own shadow. Thinking this would be fun to show her parents, and get to play with them perhaps, Eriselle would show them what she could do. At first, her parents couldn't believe it, but when they knew for sure that this was real, they were overjoyed, and showered their daughter in affection. The family finally once again had magic and with it their hopes of finally being recognized could be realized!
Poor unfortunate Eriselle had no idea what this meant for her though. Not so long after this discovery, her parents would begin making her work to become better nonstop, putting the entire weight of reviving the family name on her shoulders. She would get tutored, then study magic history and spellcasting, then practice her abilities, and then she had to present how she had improved at the end of the day. Suddenly, there was no more time for shadow puppets, no more time for herself. Even though she was exhausted all of the time, she worked the hardest she could. Years would go by, and Eriselle quickly picked up on whatever her parents tasked her for next, mastering it the best she could, but it was never enough. The very thing that Eriselle was a blessing for having was the thing that she was now a disgrace to the family for.
After she turned 16, her parents became cold and silent, never addressing her directly, but instead speaking to each other in hushed whispers around her. She knew that they were coming to the end of their family's collected wealth finally and that they had to do something, or they would be out of a home, but she didn't know quite how far her parents were willing to go. She would learn within the next month when her parents called her to their grand living room and standing there was a hellish fiend of monstrous proportions. While Eriselle freaked out, her parents calmly explained to her that they had tracked down the demon that had cursed their family all that time ago. He was going to grant Eriselle extreme magic power that she could enhance willingly, and that would finally bring fame, power and gold back her family. In her parents' desperation, they had not even asked for what they were giving in exchange, saying they were willing to take any risks for a return to what they once had. Eriselle begged her family to reconsider, pleading that she could do better. Her mother and father would hear none of it. Though, they should have heard their daughter out, for what came next would be tragic. She would get the power she was promised, but at the cost of the lives of those she loved, and anyone she would hold dear in the future. For the power the she was promised was drawn from death. All that is known by the general public is that the family perished in a terrible house fire, servants included, save for the solo survivor; Eriselle.
Nowadays, Eriselle von Hemirsen is known for a wide for her impressive magic capabilities, though none know the cost of receiving them. And though she is a gorgeous woman, no one lingers around her for too long.
