Shay's genuine origin is a complete mystery to everyone besides Shay but many speculate that what makes Shay, Shay, is the flower that replaced the head of the body. It's speculated that Shay originally was a normal human being but an alien parasite took over their body and made it their own. Though due to Shay's unwillingness to speak on the matter, every theory and speculation has yet to be confirmed.
To keep Shay happy they have provided Shay with several comforts that they requested themselves. An Ipod with access to metal music, copious amounts of alcohol that appear to have no affect on Shay itself, and clothes that patients within the facility wouldn't often have as luxuries. He choses to wear colourful and comfortable clothes. He choses to stay at the facility due to how willing they are to bend to her every need; they give it stuff so willingly to keep it happy in exchange for further willing study and she's decided that topside wouldn't get any better than this.
The things Shay has willingly told researchers is very limited. It has told them of where it used to live in America, the birthday they assigned to themselves, their name and similarly the things they like to do. Basic information you' often hear when first meeting someone and getting to know them. Though beyond that nothing else is known of Shay's origin and what Shay actually is. Shay's genuine intentions alongside their capabilities are incredibly unknown but it's assumed that Shay is stronger than the researchers and medical personnel could comprehend; he just enjoys toying with them and finds their feable attempts at keeping him subdued hilarious; he's said this to them on several occasions.
Shay's intentions for the future of his stay at the facility are unknown; will he break out? Will he continue to wait it out and use these researchers for all they are worth and kill them all? She isn't sure yet but she makes it known that anything could happen and as a self-proclaimed god they have control over the lives of those within the facility and that they should thank it for them all still being alive. Shay's threats may seem empty, but it's due to how little they know of Shay.
