PERSONALITY
Lucretia is bold and headstrong, as well as slightly arrogant. Despite her threat to human life, she isn't inherently malicious and can be reasoned with. She gets emotionally attached easily, but hates showing her true feelings, choosing to hide behind cynicism and snarky comments.
HISTORY
Lucretia was a mermaid warrior who once lived in the ocean. One day, she accidentally offended a sea witch, who cursed her to fall asleep for a thousand years. When she woke up, she found herself trapped in a lagoon that was inhabited by a freshwater mermaid clan. She joined the clan for a sheer lack of anything better to do, and even managed to make friends with the mermaid clan leader's daughter, Sienna.
However, Lucretia found herself dissatisfied with the clan's pacifistic way of life. The leader of the clan had decreed that the mermaids were not to hunt humans, or to even make their presence known, in fear of drawing the attention of monster hunters. Unlike the freshwater mermaids who could eat fish to survive, Lucretia had no choice but to prey on unsuspecting human hikers that drop by the lagoon, or else face starvation. On one of her hunts, she accidentally allowed a human to escape, thus alerting the hunters to the mermaids' existence.
A young hunter, Leo, was dispatched to get rid of the mermaids. After a brief tussle with Lucretia, Leo defeated her but found himself unwilling to kill her, thus offering to help her return to the sea to stop her from picking off humans by the lagoon.
TRIVIA
- In mermaid form, she can only survive for up to 10 minutes out of water. She is also unable to speak in her mermaid form out of water. However, she can switch to a human form that allows her to function the same as a regular human but with greater strength and speed, which can last up to half an hour.
- She can survive on animal meat/fish for a short period of time, as long as she has eaten human flesh within a month.
- She likes to hunt during the full moon.
- Iron hurts her, just like it hurts all fae creatures.
