Scav's RP Comfort Meme

My main method of communication and RP is through discord. It's the platform I'm on most consistently and the platform I habitually check. However I am open to RPing on TH forums, worlds (public or private), and Google docs I just ask that you ping me on Discord when you respond. If there is another platform you wish to use just ask me.

I am comfortable in one on one roleplays and large group roleplays. However my preference is no more than 3 RP partners in one roleplay. I can be a little shy so the larger the group gets the less comfortable I am engaging with people/characters I may not know as well. So if it's a roleplay with more than 3 other people please ask me first.

As I said in the beginning absolutely no minors. I prefer to RP with people close to my own age (22-35) but as long as you're over 18 I'm open to RPing together.

I have no preference here, everybody of any gender identity is welcome. Just let me know or make sure I'm aware of your preferred pronouns and we're good to go!

I only know English unfortunately so that's the only language I can RP in. That being said if English is your second language or not your strongest language that's OK. As long as I have a general idea of what your character is doing/saying I'm good to go. And if I'm unclear on anything I'll just ask! I have no problem with that.

I'm good with any genre except horror. That being said I typically don't do Fandom stuff. I prefer to do original content but I'm not totally against it. If you have an idea for a Fandom RP just ask me and I'll let you know how I'm feeling on that. My strong suits are slice-of-life, crime, sci-fi, and fantasy. Also, bonus points if we get to world build. I'm a sucker for that shit.

I write in 3rd person, past-tense omniscient POV. I don't require my RP partner also write in that style but it is something I love. I do have a hard time adapting to present tense POVs so I'd really not like to have to switch for my partner. On rare cases I will switch for someone but it's not ideal for me. I also am really not a fan of first person for RPs in my writing or my partners writing. So I do try to stay away from that as it makes me a little uncomfortable as I fear the lines between IC and OOC start to get blurred.

I don't care what pov my partner writes in as long as it's not first person. I'll never ask you to change or alter your writing style to RP with me as I feel like that just takes away the fun of the experience.

I can write in all styles for RP. Though I really like to stick to paragraph narrative style. I'm not super keen on script style and tend to stay away from it but if we're close enough or doing a small mini scene I might be willing to utilize it.

This is one area where I hold my preferences in that I expect similar from my RP partner. I'd prefer a partner who leans more toward paragraph or novel style as I tend to match my partners response length.

My shortest post length hovers around 150 words, and that's when I'm really dragging my feet or feeling uninspired. My average post length is typically around 300 to 400 words but if I'm really feeling the scene I can write 500 to 600 words. I don't typically like to go much more than that because it tends to be a lot of internal monologuing or the scene starts getting chopped into two halves in the same post. But if the scene calls for it I'm not against producing longer posts. As I said earlier I tend to try and match my partners response length for the most part. (Exceptions to this are if we're texting/messaging IC).

For word count preferences from my RP partner I typically find that I like 100 words or more. I don't really have a an upper limit for what I'd consider to be too long, cause I love reading about others characters. But if it's any shorter than 100 or 150 words I find I have a hard time coming up with a meaningful (to me) response. And sometimes short posts can make it feel unnatural to me. Because if my character wouldn't really respond the scene kinda dies so I get backed into a corner. So my only preference is more than 100 or 150 words! I will say if a post is over 5000 I'm not sure how I would respond to it but I'm not completely against it.

My average posting speed depends on my schedule. Some days I can respond at the speed of light (within an hour) and sometimes it can take me a few days. I don't personally like to let an RP sit for longer than a week without a response but it can happen when I'm feeling especially burnt out or overwhelmed; so feel free to poke me unless I've otherwise told you I'm stressed with life. On average I aim to respond at the very least once a day. I'm also adaptable here and kinda gauge how fast my partner is responding regarding how urgently I need to respond.

I love fast responses cause it keeps me engaged but I know life comes first. So ideally I'd like an RP partner who can respond daily the majority of the time. However I know life comes first so if it takes longer that's OK. I do start giving up on the RP after a month has gone by with no response though and subsequently disengage.

My preference is to play anthro characters first then humanoid/human characters second. Feral characters are a maybe, ask me. I have RPed them in the past and I'm not totally against it but I just don't vibe with those characters of mine in the same way. What/who I play also depends on what/who my RP partner is playing so I'm flexible and adaptable there. For all other types like original species just ask me, I may be willing to create a orignial species character if we're close!

What my RP partner plays doesn't really matter to me provided the characters make sense and aren't problematic to RP together. Though again I'm not the biggest fan of feral characters. Nothing against it I just have a harder time coming up with content. I like having thumbs to utilize xD so I'd like to try and avoid them all together if possible.

99% of the time I will play male characters. Occasionally I may play a trans-masc character. And very very rarely I will play a female character. I kinda just stick to what I know as I don't want to misrepresent anyone or anything.

I have absolutely no preference on what gender character my RP partner plays. The only time gender would be a factor in an RP dynamic is in regard to shipping but there's more on that below.

My go to orientations for my characters start with homosexual first and foremost as I play masc characters and prefer MxM pairings. Then bi or pan would be a close second, then demi third. I won't ever play a flat out heterosexual character. I wouldn't say it would be out of the realm of possibility for me to play an ace character I just never have before. Not against it though.

I have no preference when it comes to the sexual orientation of my RP partners characters. There's more to do RP wise than just shipping characters (although I do love doing that) but just because our characters may not be sexually attracted to eachother doesn't mean that we can't RP.

For my characters 20 is the absolute lowest age I will play and I'm willing to go up to the age of 50. That being said my sweet spot is around 25 to 35 and the majority of my characters will fall within that age range.

I don't really care how old my RP partners characters are, thats not something that makes a huge difference to me but I won't RP with any characters that are minors. All characters I RP with must be 18+ even when there's no ship related content.

I'm not gonna lie I haven't really RPed more than one character at a time. Or at least it's been so long since I have that I can't remember. That being said I'm willing to play up to 3 in one scene. I feel like any more than that and I'll lose track/focus or be less generous with how much content I'm producing.

I don't really care how many characters my RP partner plays in a scene so long as they're managed well. I think more than 10 sounds crazy so I'm gonna a mark it as an unsure. That would be something to discuss and would be based on how well we know eachother. It's also worth noting that I took this question and the one above as characters per scene. If we're building a world together make/bring in as many characters as your heart desires.

If you're wanting to ship with one of my characters I do like to talk about it first. Most of the time I'm gonna be on board but it will sometimes depend on the situation or character. I don't require that the characters interact first but we do need to talk it OOC just to make sure we both like and are comfortable with the dynamic.

Exclusivity is weird for me. I will always be down 100% for AU relationships. Canon relationships will be more iffy and dependent on the characters and dynamic of the ship. The reason being is I've shipped a lot of my characters together and while I prefer an RP ship I'm going to be more picky in these situations. I'm also more hesitant with canon ships because I don't want to be left high and dry so they're more likely to be planned with long time friends. I don't have issue with multishipping but that for me crosses into AU territory and in such cases I may not consider a ship canon.

I absolutely love MxM ships. They are 100% my preference and what I will seek out or entertain the most seriously. Other ships are all pretty much a maybe. You can ask me and I'm not against them, I just find I dedicate the most of my energy toward my MxM ships. Other ships that my require that I'm not playing a male character will be the hardest ones for me to find investment in but again I'm not flat out against them.

I love making connections with my OCs and others so I'm willing to go for any of these dynamics. However I do like to talk about it first and not just have it sprung on me. And some dynamics may require more planning than others based on character backstories. The dynamic may not be considered canon though unless we are close/friends.

Relationship speed for me largely depends on the characters and what the relationship looks like. However, I'm open to any speed as long as it fits they dynamic and makes sense for the characters. Generally I like just a little bit of build up. If we're doing slow burn however I do like to HC and share interests boards and stuff to keep me engaged and excited for the ship while we build up to it.

When it comes to depictions of violence I don't really have any strict boundaries. I'm comfortable with whatever my RP partner is comfortable with. However, when our OCs are being violent toward eachother I'm big on talking out the situation first. Let's plot out the interaction and end goal so we both know what to expect. I don't mean like planning out each punch but big moments and the winner type of thing. I'm also open to using DnD style rolling systems during violent interactions to decide the fate of each maneuver.

For physical intimacy I will only do smut with people I'm close with and feel comfortable with. I'm fine with fading to black and the buildup on sexual physical intimacy though! Even without explicit smut, I like to communicate though about what's happening rather than just being thrown into a situation unexpectedly.

I'm comfortable with (and love) all of these non-sexual forms of intimacy. Don't hold back. My RP partner also doesn't need to ask permission to iniate any of these interactions.

Depictions of abuse is a little tricky. And I'm gonna say I'm fine with graphic depictions of all of them except child abuse and sexual abuse. I won't ever RP those kinds of things but if they're part of your characters backstory and come up in RP that's fine. Like the characters discussing their trauma or recounting their past. But I don't wanna actively RP out child or sexual abuse. If that makes sense. I also will say for any abusive situations we need to have an open line of communication, much like with the violence, on what's happening and why.

My biggest rule with psychological issues is that everything is done respectfully and isn't just a sterotypical trope. A lot of these I can handle graphic depictions of but there are a few where I'm more comfortable with only mentions and light discussion at this time. However it kind of ebbs and flows. There are times where I can handle graphic depictions of those few topics so you're always free to ask me how I'm feeling on them and I'll let you know!

I love making friends outside of RP. In fact it makes me more engaged in the RP itself so please feel free to talk to me as much as you want OOC! Also feel free to send me memes, playlists/music, pinterest boards, anything especially in regards to our characters and plots! I love that shit.
