One of the few remaining (mostly) human surgeons hailing from Earth, Lionel is at the top of his medical field when he really should not be.
With the existence of androids, advanced technology, and even advanced races, Lionel has had to adopt bionic aid into his body in order to compete and leave the run-down no-good clinics of Earth and pursue a greater career elsewhere in the galaxy.
He does not trust androids despite the android-derivative technology that runs through his anatomy, but learning to work with his surgical aide, Uli, an android with the most peculiar traits that stand out from the rest of his kind, Lionel has learn to work alongside androids and use his talents to advance in this android-dominated field.
Lionel tolerates Uli for the better part of the beginning of their partnership; the android is much friendlier and outgoing and personal than any android he's met before. But eventually their synchronicity in the O.R. is undeniable, and with a foundation of growing trust and respect, their relationship develops further.
Lionel prefers traditional things from times long-passed. Pens with ink, paper, old doctors' coats, etc. All basically obsolete, but he grew up admiring these images and likes to use "old tech" and put on that traditional appearance when he can.
Design Notes:
Lionel has flexible screen panels on the top of each forearm which give him immediate readings based on how he uses his the sensors that are laced throughout his body. There are sensors all along his hands, visibly on along his fingers, in his eyes, ears, implanted in his septum, and are connected through his spinal cord and into his brain. The ear piece gives him auditory readings.
The panels can be turned off at will; while they can be placed on "Sleep" mode and emulate his skin color and texture, they're mostly seen in standby as dark panels (as seen in his Reference).
He is often scruffy. The type to shave every morning but probably needs to shave again by the end of the day. The bionic technology is close to perfect, but it's not without his faults. He often gets migraines and needs a substantial amount of sleep (though sometimes he pushes through anyway.) Can be seen with either bags under his eyes, or sometimes patches on his head for his headaches.
