Alexander Gomolka

Brief Summary/Basic Info:

Alexander Gomolka is one of the eight known Universalists in the Multi-verse, a human-alien hybrid species that has been created artificially by a current unknown source. His job is to help out the other Universalists with different technologies, organizing the information gathered, and overall keeping up with the maintenance of the Creus Space Station the Universalists currently reside in. He used to be able to go on different missions, however a past mission had left Alex severely wounded, which lead to his increased social anxiety and a hindering fear of leaving the station.

Physical Appearance:

About 5'5", Alexander is a  stocky type of nerd and the shortest Universalist on the Creus Station. Most of his thick form comes from excess chub and does not express a lot of muscular features like his sister. His hair is a regular auburn color, with most of his hair a mess of unruly curls and his front more of side swept bangs. Eyes are a bright teal and big, with skin fairly pale. For scars, Alex has straight,  black circuit-like scars around his eyes, and can be felt as a smooth bump on the skin. Other notable scarring is three distinct circular scars on his back, one on his lower neck and one under each shoulder blade. His hands are very rough with scarring from machinery work.

For clothing, Alex wears, always, his black goggles, for safety reasons and to hide the scars that are around his eyes. They are silver-rimmed, and the lenses are, well, black, so you can't see what's behind them. His outfit is very basic, a red t-shirt and some worn-out blue jeans, with the only thing significant being a stained white lab coat. The stains are mostly oil and other types of mechanical fluids from the many machines Alex works on when he isn't working at his computer. It has a popped out collar that goes up halfway towards his neck, and his shoes are just regular brown yet sturdy work boots. Other outfits Alex likes to wear are some t-shirts and exercise shorts(though he rarely exercises at all), numerously stupid graphic tees, and blue striped sleeping garments complete with some bunny slippers.

Personality:

Alexander is what you get when you have an extrovert on the outside, introvert on the inside. When he's around people he's comfortable with, he can ramble on for hours about the things he works on and in return loves listening to what people are most passionate about. When around people he doesn't know, he becomes a nervous wreck, and loses that confidence to do much of any talking except polite 'yes' and 'no's to the conversation. In general he doesn't do much of trying to socialize, isolating himself on the station with the other Universalists and his many robots to talk to instead. That doesn't stop him from fantasizing about what is life is like outside the station, and has an overall curiosity about the different cultures and humans that could be out of his universe. The ocean is the one thing that intrigues him the most though, as he feels its fascinating that in almost all universes, space has been more explored than the murky depths of the sea. He develops this into his robots, which he takes great pride in maintaining and well, caring for in general. He loves all his robots, and his robots, to him (To the ones who can feel love, and those who can't have just a strong connection with him in general)

He is also extremely naive, and can be easily manipulated by people, especially ones who compliment him, or threaten him. Thus, another reason why he tries to stay away from people, because he just can't bring himself to be suspicious to a bright smile and good ideas. Is extremely against violence, and has absolutely zero self-preservation, which leads him into a lot of dangerous situations if he is ever to be off the station. The main reason for this is he has a strong belief that his existence only matters if he is useful or not, and can become hysteric if he cannot find something to do on the station that will let him live. He always is able to find the usefulness of others, but not to himself, which causes him bouts of depression spirals, and anxiety attacks if he is not working for long periods of time. He also has a case of the big gay, and can and will fall in love with a dude if they say one nice thing to him. 

Strengths/Weaknesses:

     Strengths

• Computer Smarts, able to hack into devices even without his technopathic powers and able to find information fast and efficiently
• Ability to read mechnical designs easily to see how they work is extremely useful, and knows a bunch about technology from most ages 
• Highly organized and keeps records of all their adventures and information from Universes in a neat and organized fashion

     Weaknesses

• Awful at close combat, having only a limited amount of experience, and the only experience he has is defense
• Powers aren't very reliable in a fight/when he can't concentrate
• Has no self-preservation
• Bad social skills
• Can't swim

Powers/Abilities:

He is the Universalist with the ability Technopath, making him able to bend metal and electricity to make any machine. If he can concentrate long enough, he can move electricity and/or metal independently without needing to make a machine, but its highly unpredictable. This power is the most draining, and if used for too long, can cause him to go into Meltdown mode. This mode makes it so his power goes beserk, and will affect all machinery near him that do not have special chips integrated into them to stop the power from messing with the electronic (All of Alex's robots have this chip)

The other power that had came to Alex was his ability to slow down time for a limited amount of time, which he uses in conjunction with his techno powers to make machines faster. This one can be triggered even when he doesn't want it to, especially when he is feeling distressed or tries to bring up the corrupted memories of his time off the station. This ability did not come to Alex from the beginning and had mysteriously only began manifesting after the incident, and no Universalist knows why.

Artist Notes:

-Please do not draw him without the circuit 'tattoos' around his eyes, those are very important to his story

-There is a piece in his gallery that showcases his flashing eyes, which you can also do as well! I've gotten a lot of questions about it but yes, his eyes flash like that when he's scanning her extremely nervous

-You can draw his eyes teal or the dark blue in the different ref pics, doesn't really matter to me
