One full moon, Foxclan attended the Gathering, as normal. But what they weren’t anticipating was for the dreadful visions their medicine cats had beeen receiving to come true. The sky split open, and a fire started in the mossy hollow, spreading quickly to the territories. That night, a Foxclan queen named Cometdancer gave birth to a son. When the child’s father, Frenzyflare, returned from the Gathering, they named the child: after the latter’s mother, Brightblaze, and after the events of the night. And so, Blazingkit was born.
He met his half-sister from his father’s side, Pheonixcall, and played around in the sand bar. But soon enough, he became an apprentice.

Blazingkit became Blazingpaw, and was appointed the Foxclan deputy Goosebriar as a mentor. He encountered another apprentice, Jellyfishpaw, and Fallingnight at the willowing blooms. He also attended his first Gathering. But soon, his life would be changed. While in the willowing blooms, practicing his battle moves, a fire strikes, coming out of seemingly nowhere. The plants seemed to lean towards him, calling for help. But the flames did not consume him. They stayed at least a tail-length away from him, and when he moved, the fire moved with him. Calling from within the flames, he heard a voice. Help- please, help! It said. He tried to run, tried to find the feline, but it was no use. Blazingpaw decided to run back to camp to get help. The first cat he ran into? The medicine cat, Clementinecamelia.
When he explained what had happened, she recognised it for what it was- a sign from Starclan. She told him of his destiny- to become a medicine cat. Blazingpaw had always wanted to be the best warrior, and refused, desperately trying to find a reason that the sign was wrong. But he could not. It was clear what they had to do. The next half-moon, the two journeyed to the medicine cat meeting, and before the Star Tree, Blazingpaw became a medicine cat apprentice. He met Quietstar in Starclan, and learnt some herbs with his mentor. He also attended his second Gathering, and first as a high rank, where he met the Tribe forecaster Angel. The next half-moon meeting, Blazingpaw talked to Tawnymoth and Lightharvester. He also met Little Bear in Starclan. He learned of Jellyfishpaw’s sickness, and met a cat named Sweetpea. The apprentice also witnessed Rainkit’s Starclan sign. The next Gathering, Blazingpaw talked with Angel, Fireweedkiss and Loreveil. When Duskstar appeared with Pristine the Radiant Star, he froze as Clementinecamelia leapt in front of him to defend him and Angel. After Moonlit Eclipse and Duskstar had ran to the Star Tree, he searched for his mother and his mentor’s father, Sunsurge, in the crowd. When he couldn’t find them, he ran to help Clementinecamelia and Angelstar. Upon returning home from the Gathering, he fell asleep, but awoke in a shared dream with Harvestweather.
