Cat was born to two loving parents, and is the oldest of three children. Her childhood was pretty normal, her parents cared for her the best that they could, she did pretty good in school and had a decent amount of friends. When she was old enough, her mother had her help out with her siblings and other chores. She didn’t really like doing them, but obediently did so as she was asked. However, as time went on, her parents started to not get along as well as they used to. They would scream and throw things at each other, stuff like that. She tended to try to stay away from them when they did this, to not get in the way. Keep her siblings occupied out in the backyard while they sorted their differences out. By the age of ten, they divorced, with her father taking custody.

After moving in with their father, they barely got by. The money they got from his job and child support could only do so much. Even so, their father tried his best to do what he could to make his children happy. Cat hated to see her dad like this and took the resolve to get a part-time job to help him out at around fifteen. She was a bit nervous as it was her first job she’s ever had. But eventually, she got the hang of it and did her job as if it was second nature.

One day, a boy came into the shop during her shift. Sure this was normal as it was a gas station, but something was different about him. She couldn’t put her finger on it and proceeded to act like a complete doofus in front of him as she rung him up. Embarrassed, she quickly excused herself after she was done. She hid in the back in shame for how she acted in front of this admittedly cute boy. She eventually got over it and continued on with her shift. After that, he proceeded to come by every day around the same time. She got a little suspicious and asked why he came around so often. It was his turn to be embarrassed. He admitted he thought she was cute and wanted to see her more often. Maybe get to know her if she’d like to talk more. Then asked if she’d like to hang out after her shift was over. Cat was completely flabbergasted but awkwardly accepted.

Not too long, they decided to go out. It honestly was one of the happiest times of her life. They’d go on dates every once and a while, hang out often, hell she introduced him to her family at one point. (Her dad was happy and pissed at the same time lmao) She honestly thought she’d marry him. And possibly have a family. But unfortunately, good things must come to an end.

It was three or so years after they met when it happened. They were going home after a party late at night. They were almost home when a car came out of nowhere. It was swaying back and forth, and going way past the speed limit. Right towards Cat. She stood there frozen, like a deer in headlights. Fast as lightning, her boyfriend pushed her out of the way just in time but ended up getting hit instead. Cat snapped back to reality and ran over to his cumbersome body. His breathes were ragged and painful, but still alive. She refused to move from his side as she called an ambulance.

He ended up dying later at the hospital.

Cat took her boyfriend’s death poorly. She refused to leave her room for days and barely ate anything. She was completely miserable with him gone and honestly blamed herself for it. If she wasn’t there, he wouldn’t have died…It was always in the back of her mind. It made her scared to love again, as she felt like she ruins things. (Her parent's relationship, her bf’s death, etc) She became extremely insecure, and nearly ended her life because of it. It took a lot of convincing and therapy to get her to take care of herself once more, and to try not to feel guilty about what has happened over the course of her life.

She decided in the end, to do her best to help others who were unfortunate and down like her. It’s what he would’ve wanted. To see her happy and living her life to the fullest instead of rotting away in her room due to grief. She became a doctor and moved to Maple Metropolis, hoping to put everything behind her and hopefully finally become happy once more.
