Profile
Positive
Considerate > Thinks often of the feelings and struggles of others and goes out of her way to do what she can to help. She may not always be able to lighten their burden, but she can still show she cares in some manner or another.
Tactful > Careful with their words and actions. Henkit is diplomatic and capable of finding appropriate compromises for a given situation.
Encouraging > Warm and engaging, Henkit takes an interest in the dreams and ambitions of others and is, overall, very supportive of seeing her clanmates succeed. She can provide gentle encouragement or be the push in the right direction someone needs.
Neutral
Contemplative > Considering her actions before and after taking them. She thinks a lot about the world, her place, and how her actions affect herself and others. This can give her an air of wisdom about her and make her someone to go to for advice. But it also makes her doubt herself, lingering on past actions and consequences.
Protective > Feircely defensive of others, she has a protective streak and a bit of a blindside when it comes to those closest to her. She won't hesitate to act, which can cause her to behave in uncharacteristically rash or aggressive ways when someone she cares for is threatened.
Serious > Treats matters maturely and directly. Hen doesn't make light of the circumstances around xer and isn't one to make jokes or careless remarks. Xe can come off as humorless and often sits on the sidelines when it comes to play.
Negative
Distrustful > Wary and skeptical, Hen treads on the side of caution. While not mean-spirited, they find it difficult to put their trust in others and often find themself questioning motives and looking for clues that they are being lied to.
Distant > Closed off and secretive, she won't open up to anyone. She often has an air of melancholy about her and a deeply ingrained fear of getting too close.
Timid > Quiet by nature and easily frightened. Hen shies away from spotlight of conflict and is often seen as more cowardly.

History
Kithood [0-6 moons] >
Henkit was born the second of five kits. Duckkit was older than her by just an hour, while their youngest littermate, Goosekit, took nearly eight hours after that. The lengthy birth was expected, as Falconchirp struggled immensely with her health in the final moon of her pregnancy. It was a miracle the kits had made it to term at all.
Henkit and her siblings had each other and their mother for that brief first day of life. Their family was complete and so full of love despite the circumstances.
Swankit faded quickly during their first night, and Falconchirp went during the early hours of the morning, leaving Henkit and her siblings orphans long before she would open her eyes.
They would be kept in the herbalist's den for some time, as they remained weak and sickly they needed constant care and monitoring. Locustcrash, a caretaker who had helped as much as she could with Falconchirp during the pregnancy, often stayed in the herbalist's den with them. Taking over shifts so the herbalist and their apprentice could sleep through the night. By the time the four surviving kittens were able to move into the nursery, it was no wonder that Locustcrash would take on the role as their mother and guardian.
Locustcrash never kept it a secret that the four of them were adopted, and Henkit learned pretty early on Falconchirp's name and what she had been like. But she didn't hear anything about her other parent aside from the mysterious warrior's name and that they had gone missing sometime ago.
Their upbringing seemed normal enough. Although it almost felt like she and her littermates didn't have a mother at times. Locustcrash watched over them yes, but she watched over all the kits in the nursery. And Goosekit's comments didn't help Henkit feel any better about things. Goosekit hated Locustcrash and refused to see her as family at all.
At some point during their kithood, Locustcrash's brother and several other cats returned from the dead. Cicadahowl seemed rather intimidating, this was her uncle? She felt confused and a little scared. She wanted to love her mom and uncle, but she couldn't help but want other things too.
Henkit started asking about other dead cats. If Cicadahowl could come back like that, why couldn't other cats? Why couldn't Swankit or Falconchirp? Why not Mudtalon? Gently she was told that it wasn't possible, and hen couldn't help but feel frustrated by that answer. It wasn't fair.
Locustcrash started keeping Henkit inside the nursery more often. She missed playing outside a lot, but she didn't complain. She wanted to know why- and was told. Cats were getting sick, and Locustcrash didn't want her and her littermates to risk catching it. So they just had to find more inside games to play.
Apprenticeship [6 - present moons] >
Henpaw was made an apprentice and assigned to a warrior named Jaggedtrout. She was really tall- Henpaw felt like a kit again just standing next to her. But then again, she'd only been a kit yesterday so maybe she would have felt that way anyway.
Henpaw wasn't sure how she felt about starting training. Going from hiding in the nursery all day to daily outings was a huge change. Part of her was excited for it, but another part just wanted to return to normalcy. She discovered that she really hated change and wanted her life to be as consistent and predictable as possible. She'd have to adapt because life wasn't ever going to be that way, but it was going to take her time.
A moon into training, Drakepaw suddenly died. An infection, possibly connected to the disease that had been going around or possibly connected to the condition they'd shared as kits. The loss was hard to accept, much harder than it had been learning about Swankit. This was Drakepaw- her brother. She'd known him all hens life and now he was gone.
Duckpaw and Henpaw stayed at the sight of Drakepaw's grave for a long time. Henpaw couldn't find words. She just, wanted her brother.
