Oen Klein

Oen was raised in a wealthy family by cold parents. They had a lot of expectations of him that he refused to meet. All he was interested in was reading and keeping to himself, while his parents wanted him to network and get into business. As they realized he would never take over the family business, the family began putting pressure on him to become the next family Mage. Magic is dangerous in this world, and things can go very poorly in acquiring it. Oen, again, had no interest. It would find him eventually, unfortunately, but that's another story.

After graduating university in the city in his early 20s, an eccentric great uncle (who preferred Oen over his cousins) passed away. He left him his estate in a small coastal town far from the city he was raised in, as well as his (admittedly smaller than the overall family wealth) fortune. Oen snapped this up immediately, and has very rarely returned to the city. The only cousin he can stand, as well as one of his only friends, acts as his accountant to make sure he never ends up asking for help to maintain his home.

He became a professor at the local private university as a favor to the headmaster, another of his few friends. He teaches two classes a week, Literature and History. His classes are small and exclusive, accepting only the most ambitious students. He wouldn't admit it easily, but he enjoys teaching more than he lets on.
