Egon Ilionescu

Egon's origins trace back to an unlikely encounter between a half-elf Nibrodd Hawkwhisper, his father, and Rina Ilionescu, a High Elf and forest guardian.The mother.
Rina's brief stay in Baldur's Gate took an unexpected turn when a moment of passion resulted in her conceiving a child. Fearful of the consequences and ashamed of her actions, she kept the pregnancy a secret, dreading the judgment of her family and society back home, which valued purity and lineage above all else.
Despite her worries, Rina held onto hope that if the child turned out to be an elf, she could present him as a worthy successor to her family.
The newborn Egon showed promise as a young elf boy, but his mixed heritage soon became apparent with his shorter ears and darker hair. Seeing these imperfections as omens of bad luck, Rina's affection for Egon waned over time, leaving him with only shallow displays of care and attention.
Yet, for Egon, his mother's love, however distant, remained his anchor in a world of uncertainty. Ten years later, Rina faced a difficult choice: return home and risk tarnishing her family's reputation or abandon Egon and preserve her status in society.

On a sunny day, Rina left Egon waiting on a city stairway, never to return. The child waited and waited, yet after two days, the boy realized his mother would not come back again.
Left to fend for himself, Egon survived by scavenging and stealing, learning to navigate the harsh streets of Baldur's Gate. His life took a darker turn when he got caught by the city guards who, in a cruel jest, intended to mutilated his ears as punishment. The attempt failed, however, Egon was left with a deep cut in his face.
Saved from further harm by a compassionate half-orc named Cliff, Egon found refuge in a makeshift family alongside two other orphaned children, Firval and Saoran. Under Cliff's guidance, they learned the art of survival, honing their individual skills in a bandit group. They were soon known as the Black Axe (Cliff), Bronze Sword (Firval), Golden Dagger (Egon) and Silver Arrow (Saoran).
Life in the bandit group brought camaraderie and a sense of purpose, but Egon struggled to form deep connections, keeping his relationships functional and at arm's length. Despite this, Firval acted as a stabilizing force, while Saoran's friendship brought both compassion and unspoken attraction towards the half-elf.
As their lives continued, Egon suddenly disappeared, never to be seen again.

Abducted by the Nautiloid ship, the rogue now found himself thrown into an unfamiliar surrounding. The abrupt shift from the familiar streets of Baldur's Gate to this new realm left him disoriented, his senses on high alert as he tried to make sense of his situation.
Together with the tieflingdruid, he met on the ship, they made their first steps along the coast.
