"Be not towards death, but towards a legacy to be left."

A pacific Saphran explorer who longed for adventure, wishing to make the most they could out of a life shortened by disease.

Born diagnosed with a condition that would accelerate physical and mental deterioration throughout later life at an exponential rate, Éclair decided even early on that if they could not leave an impact in the lives of his peers, that hed then make his life an impact upon the world itself. With great ambitions, young Éclair became particularly interested in exploring the world beyond his community, set in seeing as much of it in as little time as possible to accomodate for his expected lifespan.
While they traveled the land, quickly becoming familiar with the rest of Saphran cultures as well as having other extravagant personalities join their travels, they soon turned their attention to the seas. But with Saphran navigation still a rudimentary art, on account of the surrounding Caputean Ocean's violence and infamous impossibility to handle, anyone of common sense would turn their attention back to land from fear. but Éclair was one who had overcome it entirely, with his companions and himself joining the few others who were as adventurous and willing to embark in dangerous voyages through clashing waters.
Now becoming familiar with the Ocean and reigning in its rage with their own resolve, they began to push themselves with longer and longer travels, further and further away from land. One day, in return from their longest expedition yet, they returned a with a different look in their eyes from previous travels: one of still present wonder, bearing groundbreaking news as well as promises of yet uninhabited land and unowned riches to be conquered, all in a bold new continent they had baptized as Cenedra. Confirmed by bringing back examples of its local flora and fauna, new expeditions soon followed suit, and d'Achlys' fame across the continent soared, with their name turning to legend.

They eventually met their early demise at the end of a snake's venomous fang while venturing further deep into the Cenedran jungle, as their thirst for exploration and adventure never faded despite achieving their life's goal. In truth, Éclair was never ill: the medical knowledge of early theraphyles was still much influenced by superstition, superficial judgement and fear of the unknown, and they had taken the white lock of hair and spot of bleached skin upon their face as a bad omen, a sign that aging of cells had already happened in the womb, and it'd only be a matter of time before it happened times again.

Éclair was also a devout follower of religious doctrines, especifically those of the Poor Lunes, dedicated to owning minimal amounts of personal belongings and to sharing as much as possible with others. This faith, alongside their personal mental and physical fortitude, turned them into a formidable sea captain, deeply respected by all who ever were under their orders. With this devotion and earned fame, they would later be officially declared a Saint.
