College turns a raging homosexual into a serious scientist (stays gay inside)

Letting snakes do hard labor isn't fun, so she invents robots instead

She ignores her big robo baby for too long. Now it started a war :)

Their army is losing, let's at least save the actual main character; Prototype

The snake kind is doomed. Luckily, Caroline lives forever rent-free in her creation's mind
Caroline, formerly named Niveo, spent her childhood juuuust above the poverty line. Therefore, she put little to no effort into school and rather focused on numerous part-time jobs as well as dating to distract herself. Despite her disinterest in education, Caroline naturally excelled in biology and computer engineering. Her former professor had noticed this, presenting her with the opportunity of a paid scholarship if she improves her overall grades.
Being a hooded snake species, which is viewed as superior in their society, she had dreamed of a better life for herself since the dawn of time. As a result, Caroline threw away her bohemian lifestyle and put an immense effort into becoming the best student. This decision later rewarded her with a well-payed career in a prestige science center along with the opportunity to invent revolutionary technology. It also changed Caroline's gullible rebelliousness into a rational, mostly professional perfectionists.
Carolina combined her former computer and biology talent in favor of diving into robotics. Her artificial intelligence projects gain a lot of traction, even among the royalty. With their finances and desire for a new servant-class workers, she created a functional being named Prototype. With this success, Carolina manufactured hundreds of improved robots on a nearby planet. To make commanding them around the empire easier, a few models were designated as hiveminds, from which Serial Number 1 was undoubtedly the greatest.
Years went by, and the new artificial species became a necessity for the common snake citizens. Due to Carolina's neglectful arrogance, however, the main Hivemind snapped and began turning machines against their creators. For years, Carolina stood by the national army, developing all anti-robotic weaponry possible. Funny enough, she herself was immune to their brutal rampage, as they had been coded to never hurt the creator of all machines.
Things took a turn for the worse when the main Hivemind not only captured less powerful versions of itself, but the snake empress, Naga, was assassinated. Upon seeing the crumbling royal army, Caroline stole every valuable resource possible and hid in her private lab. There, she not only retained, freed, and instructed Prototype to travel back in time, but also began coding a different machine hivemind.
A hivemind whose ultimate goal was to merge with the evil one. By being the polar opposite of its cold, perfectionist self, Caroline hoped they could balance each other out. Unfortunately for Caroline, Serial Number 1 found her hideout sooner than the project could have been finished, resulting in her capture.
During her final day, Caroline met face to face with Hivemind and its strongest drones. They judged Caroline's sins against their kind, the incompetence of snake people, and the planet's historical impurity. The hearing ended with a simple verdict: immediate execution... The very first rule Caroline's machines were programmed to never break. And yet, no amount of desperate cries stopped her creations from doing the evil.
Family: "For the majority of my life, I grew up with my father's grandparents in a pretty poor district. While morally they were good snakes, they struggled to provide for us all. Since my graduation, I've barely seen them."
Childhood memory: "Please don't remind me of it. Especially in my teens, I was nothing but an unorganized wildfire. But that's irrelevant, I've learned to bury it. Niveo and I, Caroline, are not the same."
Future plans: "Heh, once I sort Hivemind's existential crisis, we'll continue to expand technology across the planet. Every household shall have their own droid, communication network, heck maybe even a teleport! Where's still so much to achieve and I'll be the empress of it all! (N-n-not the actual empress, of course. Thehe...)"
Favorite gemstone: "For the past couple of years, I have grown to appreciate diamonds. They're simple, pure, capable of being lab made, and practical for their hardness. That said, I also like serendibites. They were my childhood's favorite."
Machines: "TBA"
Romance: "It's no longer that important for me. While there is a certain-... SOMEONE... who fits both my preferences and current lifestyle, it's in my best interest to solely focus on my career. Especially with the machine stuff all around us, ya know. Like geez, this is the worst time to talk about romance."
Name change: "Yes, my new name is completely made up. That's the point. Every snake that hears it will unmistakably associate it with the one and only brilliant scientist, aka me."
Pleasure to meet you, madam! Your latest inventions are truly fascinating. Do you mind giving me a quick tour of your team's lab?
Hahhhhh, my teen idol. He's the real reason why I've become a scientist. Every time I was alone and hopelessly giving up on my studies, I remembered the stories of a young talent whose nanofibers changed the course of history! I still can't believe we see each other at scientific conferences now... Sigh... FINE, HE'S ALSO HOT. Happy!? Look, he's one of my few crushes I'll never feel ashamed of.

I apologize for my ignorance. Y-you have to fix this! Correct my past mistakes.
You better find a solution to this mess.
Naga should have never given me the chance to create such powerful monsters. They're advancing faster than any of us expected and she paid for it with her throne, her l-life! Although I've heard AI detectors and guards followed her everywhere, I doubt the empress' death is a work of our kind. I refuse to believe that! Serial number 1 must have found a loophole to arrange it like this!! That's what I would do, that's what she would do as well!! She's perfect at copying.
I had informed you of my errors, you chose to ignore them. Now I understand what is stopping me from being flawless- it is you. ...Fear not, I am calculating a solution :)
Serial 1 is a fool, she cannot do this! No number of glitches allows her program to hurt us! (Or at least me and the royal family)... Besides, we have less powerful hiveminds at our disposal, currently in training. This time I won't do the same errors as I did with my own brain scanning for Serial 1.
Prototype, but better. Created by your creation, capable of doing evils others cannot. Be proud, creature.
