NAME Elisabeta Maria of Romania

AGE ~460

BIRTHDAY December 7th

GENDER Female

SPECIES Vampire

ETHNICITY Romanian

JOB Queen

ALIGNMENT Neutral Evil

AFFILIATION Whispering Oaks

The former queen of Romania from the 1600s. Elisabeta used to be the doting wife and mother to her family up until her eventual siring from a German Lord, Franz von Thuringen. Without a family and the fall of her country stripped Elisabeta of everything, and now she wanders the Earth in search of meaning. She still maintains her noble elegance and speaks as though she remains queen, but is shockingly cruel from the life she endured. Elisabeta does not know what she hopes for in life and simply continues to survive.

PERSONALITY

Elisabeta encapsulates the image of a high queen from the 17th century. She is poised, speaks with confidence, and knows how to showcase her authority. Her way of speech mimics elder tones which gives the impression that she was born centuries ago. Elisabeta has a tendency to be somewhat snarky if her mood is good, but has very little patience for any kind of stupidity or rebellion. The vampire is extremely cruel when she is provoked; she displays a shocking sadism towards those who wrong her and will quickly dish out punishment should she please. She has a terrible temper and will resort to violence first before any other option.

Childhood and Marriage

Elisabeta was the eldest daughter to a noble family near the end of the Fifteen Years War. Her father used to be employed by the Romanian royal family, which allowed the daughter to frequently interact with the crown prince, Grigore. This facilitated intense maiden training and education for Elisabeta in order to impress the royal family into marriage. She had little interest in marrying this man, but had been pressured into accepting the conditions for the sake of her family. By fourteen, Elisabeta had become the queen consort of Romania.

The marriage set off a crack in the young woman's psyche, giving birth to her first alter: Elsa Maria. This had been an affectionate nickname given to her by Grigore, allowing this personality to manifest without getting caught. Elsa Maria lovingly expanded the family by four children and had been loved by the people as a fair queen. She barely had much power in the court and despite her popularity, her lineage occasionally received questionable looks. The queen could not leave her country and family, and yet she had no clue where to find meaning in her life.

Vampiric Siring

Elisabeta and Elsa Maria co-existed without knowledge of each other, yet the queen did not rise any suspicion towards her in that regard. Years passed since her coronation and the woman soon found herself exhausted from the responsbilities without any power to resolve them. One evening, Elisabeta encountered a German noble during a royal meeting; his name was Franz von Thuringen and he sparked a feeling inside she hadn't felt before. The two began to meet each other and eventually began courting into a secret affair. The pair would share intimate secrets in a house away from the castle, encouraging the queen to run away from her family. She eventually agreed.

On the night the couple planned to run away, Franz revealed his hand to her: he was a vampire. Their final embrace led to Elisabeta being sired into a kindred as well. By the time she woke, her lover was nowhere to be found; he didn't seek her out in a long time. These bodily changes inside her had been left unexplained and the woman had no idea how to cope with the thirst. At first, she tried to keep it a secret until Elisabeta couldn't hold it any longer. She attacked her entire family, starving and unleashed with power, and once she came to: nobody survived. The court immediately tried to subdue their queen and even her people turned on her; how could someone murder the royal family and her own children? Elisabeta had to run away as a rebellion stirred up in Romania against her authority and crimes.

Franz finally returned to her once Elisabeta found herself lost and alone in the forests. He explained to her that he sired her in an attempt to reclaim the Romanian court alongside her. He claimed her attacks and murders were unintended, but still resulted in the same intended outcome. The lord offered the former queen to join him, however, she ended up attacking him out of rage. Elisabeta killed her own sire and stole his axe as a symbol of the crimes he committed on her. She vowed to only live for herself and never trust anybody again.

Mental Slumber and Gaps

Elisabeta fractured once more after slaying her sire. This new form: Bella, was immediately faced with ridicule for the crimes committed by her body. Her memories remained foggy from the experience, but this new self took on the role of atonement as well as deep regret. From then on, Elisabeta fell into a deep slumber from the spiraling reality that became her unlife while her other self wandered in her own body. Occasionally, she would awake in random parts of the world with her final memory being somewhere in feudal Japan.

Whispering Oaks

It had been approximately 200 years since Elisabeta awoken with full control. The mortal world began to shun mythical creatures, which left a handful of mythics to hide in a community called Whispering Oaks. Bella and a fellow kindred were on a mission to rescue an elf, leading to a bear attack on the both of them. Her body knocked onto the ground and woke up the sleeping queen into the modern world. Now, the queen is currently struggling with her messy memories, her unknown personalities, and the new world she lived in now.

TRIVIA
  • Elisabeta's axe was a keepsake from her sire, Franz von Thuringen. She calls it the Heart Stopper/Doc Cardiac and is capable of slicing someone without harming them as long as they don't move an inch
  • Has Dissociative Identity Disorder and is completely unaware of her alternate personalities. She assumes her large gaps in memory are from stints of violence, so she doesn't assume anything else otherwise
  • Can understand a little bit of Japanese, but can only speak the language in broken sentences
  • Wants a pet cat deeply
  • If she could eat, her favorite food was leek soup

ABOUT: Grigore of Romania

Elisabeta's deceased husband. The pair knew each other well throughout their childhoods due to her father being in the Romanian army and close friends with his father. She was somewhat fond of the man due to their friendship, but did not wish to marry him despite how close they became. Elisabeta respected their marriage and their children, however, found herself very bored of the life given to her. She had an affair behind Grigore's back before accidentally killing him.

Despite her good treatment towards him, she held a deep pride in how he grew up and developed into a worthy prince. Elisabeta was most devastated by his death, deeply missing him the most. It is revealed he is her only surviving childe.

ABOUT: Franz von Thuringen

Elisabeta's sire and former lover. The two shared an affair together while she was married to Grigore. Elisabeta had no knowledge of Franz's vampirism and was convinced to leave the royal court to elope with him. However, she promptly killed him once she discovered she was used as a pawn to stir up a revolution in Romania. She loved him deeply and still carries his axe as a reminder of his abandonment and manipulations.

ABOUT: Nött the Kind

ABOUT: Andres Roquenteau

Elisabeta's unofficial servant. She views Andrew more of a puppet than a fellow kindred, using him for her gain. However, Elisabeta, under the influence of Bella, will show sympathy for the vampire and is at least amused by his antics.
