Profile
Eun is one of three members of Kanpekids, a group mostly focused on electropop and instrumental experimentation. She mostly provides vocals and plays the keyboard and gayageum.
She is the most responsible of the three, often having to rein in the other two, but also the most easily stressed out. Though she's a lot better than she used to be, she still gets self-conscious about how she presents herself and is afraid of saying or doing embarrassing things. She also tends to be quick to judge other people based on her first impressions, though these impressions often change as she gets to know them better.
Eun spent most of life helping on family’s farm in a rural province in South Korea, originally speaking in the rural Gangwon dialect. However, she watched TV religiously and absorbed city culture, eventually picking up the ‘standard’ (Geong-gi) dialect upon visiting Seoul. She later went to Japan as an exchange student and joined a high school band with Mato. At this age, Eun was pretty bashful and embarrassed about approaching other people first, even opting to pretend to be occupied with something in hopes that others would approach her instead. In order to hide her country roots, she overcompensated by obsessively keeping up with trends, media, and fashion. Eventually, Mato helped her accept all parts of herself instead of hiding it, and she mellowed out. Just a little.
----
Eun met Kanami during his younger days on a visit to Japan, and they became friends due to some shared understandings as outsiders. Eun later went to Japan again Japan for a high school exchange program and met Mato, who was in the same class. They played together in the same band, SHIN.TO/sizer, until they graudated. Eun went back to Korea for a couple years until she got contacted by Kanami about an offer from Otohiko. Eun roped Mato in and the three of them formed a band. Their music is aimed at all ages, but especially towards a younger audience; the message they want to send is that music can give kids a place to belong.
Kanpekids! can often be found walking into the toy aisle of a store and staging an impromptu jam session for inspiration, and then uploading the resulting footage to T*ktok or Inst*gram.
- She still slips back into her Gangwon dialect when she's emotional, angered, flustered, or excited, and it affects her Japanese pronunciation a bit too. Her Japanese is normally decent, but sometimes she forgets words.
- Part of her hair is bleached, and she temporary dyes it pastel colours for performances.
- Pretty toned and athletic (used to be part of the track team in highschool) thanks to farmwork. She used to be self-conscious about this.
- Her favourite drink is maesilcha (green plum juice). Her last name is the Korean word for persimmon, but she hates them.
