A jolly lieutenant who does his best to get along with everyone.

Ern is a tall, broad man whose presence is immediately noticable. He has short dirty blond hair and a short moustache above his upper lip. He has a ruddy, round face, with a large hooked nose and two dimples on each cheek. His chocolate-brown eyes are big and round, and he has large dark eyebrows on top. He is 5'10".

Ern is a jolly, happy man who is generous and kind. He enjoys banter and never takes anything too seriously. He tends to go with the flow in most situations, and is rather spontaneous.

Ern's story takes place on the Western Front in mid-1916, during the Great War. He is stationed in France, being one of the officers commanding a platoon during the Battle of the Somme.
