BACKSTORY:

Glade grew up in a community of hawkdragons in the mountains. He never fit in with them - hawkdragons are tough and warlike by nature, while Glade is very pacifistic and avoids fights. Thus, the rest of his tribe had no respect for him. He started spending more and more time away from home to avoid the jeering, mockery and insults being thrown at him.

Nowadays, he lives in a small, beautiful woodland area a few miles from the mountains. He does not seem to resent being ostracised by his community.

PERSONALITY:

Positive: Optimistic / Considerate / Patient / Open-minded

Negative: Slow to stand up for himself / Worrier

A relaxed optimist. Glade is gentle, pleasant, and always tries to look on the bright side of things. Most people subconsciously feel at ease in his company. He never seems to get angry, but he's not immune to feeling upset or worried at times. Despite making efforts to remain optimistic, he still has emotions like anyone else, and he embraces them as a natural part of life. He tries not to dwell on how cruel the world can be, but that doesn't mean he denies others' suffering.

Glade is exceedingly patient and considerate. This is shown in his relationship with Cherry, who fell in love with him but could not bring herself to accept it for a long time. Glade was willing to wait as long as she needed, because he cared about her and wanted her to be happy. He believes that honest communication is vital to any relationship. He can usually tell when someone close to him is hiding things, and this causes him to worry about them, sometimes excessively.

He thinks he'd like to be a father someday, but is waiting until he's older before making any big decisions.

DESIGN:

Glade's body is covered in soft brown and grey feathers. He has two pairs of horns, each curling in a different direction. His eyes are a bright yellowish-green colour. His legs are scaly like a bird's - the only part of him that isn't feathered.

RELATIONSHIPS:

 Frida

His best friend. He originally met her by chance while travelling away from his tribe on a short trip. They've been friends ever since, visiting each other frequently.

 Jett

A friend who he met through Frida. They get along well, but their relationship isn't anything special.

Cherry

When Glade first met Cherry, she was exhausted and traumatised from past experiences and needed a safe place to stay. He welcomed her into his home and provided for her. It took her a long time to trust him, but eventually Glade's gentle patience paid off. In the future, they become a couple.

TRIVIA:

- Quite athletic; enjoys air racing and other sports/games that don't involve combat.

- Likes mint-flavoured things such as mint ice cream, despite his species being naturally carnivorous. Plants and dairy make him sick in large quantities.

- Most of his family have disowned him, though he remains on good terms with his youngest sister.
