PERSONALITY AND BACKGROUND

PERSONALITY: A smug, stuck-up lady who is normally only concerned with her own well-being. She’s the heir to a powerful corporation and it shows. To her, anyone who isn’t above you is your puppet, and you’re the puppet to anyone above you. So when you’re the top of the food chain like Verity, you’re basically the god of all of your little toys. She doesn’t hide her thoughts either, she’s usually quite open about how she sees everyone around her. She stresses that she be the leader of anything. Neutral Evil.

TRAUMA: Verity, as a child, was given intense pressure from both parents, but especially her mother. They were overly strict and basically planned her entire life out for her, forcing her to learn the business so she could take the reigns one day. If she happened to mess something up, she was bound for a terrible… terrible night. Given this, Verity always hide her esper abilities from everyone out of fear for her safety. One night, her dad was off on a business trip. Verity had messed up the math for the bookkeeping journals and her mother wasn’t pleased. A smack to the face one day was all it took for all that bottled-in frustration to blast out. She accidentally pulled off her esper ability that she tried so hard to hide. Her mom was sent out flying, shattering the window and falling to her doom. The police could never find any possible lead to the death of Mrs. Gaines besides a suicide, but who could blame them? Who would suspect a frail fifteen-year old to be able to blast her mother off a balcony?

BOON: Intimidation Tactics - Just being in Verity’s presence is enough to make anyone weak in the knees. The minute she nails you with that evil eye, you’re bound to lose some motivation. If Verity is in combat, enemies' attack and defense rolls get -1. 

BANE:Unpolished Psy - Verity’s esper abilities are way too hard for her to handle, especially because she never found a way to harness them. There’s a chance that after she takes any sort of damage, she might take extra damage from her raw psychic energy. A DC d5 will be rolled, then the damage roll.

SKILL: PUPPETRY - Verity usually hides her esper abilities, but if you see an option open to you in combat, you can force a teammate to attack for you, guard for you, or use them as a decoy and run. The success will be rolled for before anything happens. This skill will use the ally’s bonuses (except Verity’s speed is accounted for while fleeing). HOWEVER- since Verity’s esper abilities have gone mildly untapped, she can only use puppetry 2 times during a challenge.
