02 — Personality
- reserved and a little soft spoken, but don't mistake that for anything gentle. he has a barbed tongue, but will reserve his words sometimes. only sometimes. other times, he'll happily offer a blunt truth and be a bit of an asshole.
-developed a defense mechanism after his heart was broken, finding it a lot easier to keep people at arm's length rather than letting them anyone close to him. typically answers in short words with a soft voice, and has a resting bitch face like no other.
- has a very jaded view on life now, and tends to be a little nihilistic. has realized that the years aren't affecting him as much as they should, and this also just drives him to be a little more 'eh' about things.
- has a drive to get vengeance on anyone that hurts him, which is why he doesn't let anyone close. he'll bide his time to hurt back now, especially after what happened previously. (he won't outright hurt or kill anyone, but he'll definitely be Not So Nice).
- will keep anyone at arm's length, especially anyone interested in him. he might toy around with someone, have a fling, but he won't put any true passion or feeling into it. it's just a need to fulfill, and he refuses to allow himself close to anyone.
- still somewhat spoiled under everything else, he grew up with a silver spoon, and while he's pretty much never going to get that back, he's still rather content living as a noble for the most part, despite the rumors that circulate around him.
- if there's any point in time that he actually will fall in love again, it'll be an extremely slow burn, and he'll be extremely wary. if any feelings develop, chances are Roux will try to push the other person away and try to put distance, and maybe have an entire panic about it.

03 — Background
- was born to the east of Ivras, in a kingdom of white gold, ivory, and beauty. a place that contained beauty, which was its own ruin. while the people prospered, there was plenty of jealousy of other nearby towns and villages that wanted the peace and riches contained in the capital.
- one of several half-siblings and full siblings. the king had many consorts and a queen. he was raised among them, and many of them were extremely beautiful and vain. he ended up just as vain in the end, preening under attention and adoration.
- unbeknownst to him, his father had struck a pact. he wanted a child that had the power to surpass death. what his father didn't know, is that Roux was born with this, with the very power of death itself. a dormant power, one that wouldn't surface for a long time.
- was placed in an arranged marriage at a young age, seeing as he had no abilities nor any ambition to take over the throne himself. it wasn't the best thing, with his spouse ending up being fairly abusive, coming from another kingdom where the culture was very different. he ran away, breaking the marriage and creating unrest in the lands. his actions caused several conflicts, but by the time it mattered, he was too far west for it to matter anymore.
- he wandered for a long time, growing but never truly aging. he went from place to place, finding plenty that looked at him, that wanted his gaze on them. he was good looking, he knew it. there were a lot of 'toys' in this phase.
- ended up in a smaller kingdom, where everyone was very different. not quite ivras just yet, but he fell into the court of the royals, with his well mannered speech and own royal upbringing, he knew how to charm. he ended up impressing the prince, and found a soft spot in himself for the other. this was the beginning of a true romance, as the prince slowly broke the walls that Roux had around himself, finding genuine affection something he was extremely thirsty for.
- some part of him finally opened up entirely, falling head over heels and becoming a little more than attached to the prince. however, it wasn't meant to be. as genuine as the prince was, it turned out to be a manipulative ruse, karma that had finally come to bite him in the ass. it broke Roux' heart, something he'd never imagined possible.
- this awoke some latent power, one that had nestled deep in Roux' soul. his magic awakened, and the prince's very soul was stolen away, killing him as Roux had desperately wanted a friend in that moment, yearning for comfort. the prince's death gave way to a creature in front of Roux. a being born of magic, wavering in greens and transparent. a dinosaur. it was here Roux learned he could summon the dead.
- killing the prince meant Roux had to flee, taking off further west. he found himself in Ivras. here, his reputation still followed him, but it was more like a rumor. Death's Touch, Soul Stealer. his power hasn't been used much, but he's still known as someone to avoid.

04 — Magic
Grim Reaper Physiology
DEATH INCARNATE
Roux possesses the ability to defy death itself, and wields death itself.
By feeding off the essence of the dying (whether it be plants or creatures), he's become immortal.
At his current levels, he can bring back the bones of the dead, mindless and bending to his whim, by using the life essence of others, or by his own power. Anything he touches - when his magic is active - will wither up and rot away. This could potentially be a fatal touch to others if he was strong enough (and of course, with partner permission on any of this).
Eventually, he'll learn to bring back the dead entirely, without their souls at first, but maybe a resurrection will be in the future for him. Roux also has the capability of absorbing the life or soul of others to give himself energy (with partner permission), and it can leave others feeling weary and worn down to the bone. He rarely ever does this.
Will eventually be able to channel his magic into the scythe he has, using it like a focus (need to imbue magic).

UNDEAD MONSTROSITY
This power refers to basically him being able to shift into a guardian / undead monstrosity. This ability tends to sap away a lot of his own life energy, feeding off his very soul in the process, causing him to lose control of the shape. He needs concentration with it, and can very easily lose that grasp he has on this form's instincts.
At his current level of power and discipline, he's fully capable of shifting entirely into this form. It reaches rather large sizes, easily pushing 35hh in height when fully shifted (while on hind legs, at shoulders). Shorter when hunched on all fours. This form is more durable, allowing him to take more blows when it comes to fighting.
Progression of Power
- can stay in this form; minutes-> hours -> days
- grows in size (at shoulders); 20hh -> 35hh -> 45hh
- breath weapon usage per day; 1 -> 3 -> 5
- flight time; minutes -> hours -> unlimited
- can access his other magic in this form; only some -> most -> all abilities accessed
Progression of Discipline
- grows in size until reaching his maximum height
- exhales a breath weapon; a black fog that can cause necrotic type damage
- can take more hits the stronger he gets, without losing concentration
- will eventually be able to sprout wings and have flight
- will access his other magic in this form while he has the concentration for it
Costs
- Magic use fatigues the caster. - Roux will easily tire out if he uses his magic too much for too long. For this reason, he's started to use it only when necessary, which isn't often at all.
