Neil Odell

Neil thrives on competition, he absolutely loves the adrenaline of it. He's overly emotional and can swing fast from being happy to being pissed off in less than a second. He is pretty bad at hiding his true emotions, so typically what you see is what you get with him. It's a bit hard to tell when he's joking or not, since everything that comes out of his mouth seems to have an edge to it. He does tend to exaggerate for dramatic effect and to hide his true feelings, but he's just not very good at it. For example, Neil can say how much he hates Keegan as much as he wants, at the end of the day it's hard to ignore the way he stares at the other when he thinks no one is looking.

He is impulsive, known to do and say things that could hurt himself and others without much forethought. His emotions run his life and his decisions more than anything else. He enjoys the thrill of a good argument, but lacks the impulse control to not keep fists and teeth out of the equation. He loves to play hockey, he feels at home on the ice, but constantly finds himself in the penalty box from shoving too hard. He doesn't like his lack of self control, but at this point he's too stubborn to try and reign himself in. This is who he is, and people will just have to accept him this way.

Neil has been interested in sports since he could walk on his own. His parent had him practicing as early as possible, and Neil absolutely loved every second of it. He loved the feeling of winning, the praise of his parents when he pulled off some new strat he realistically shouldn't be able to do yet. He pushed himself hard to be the best, and his parent supported him fully, and has been Neil's coach basically forever. They have been his actual hockey coach for a while too, and they let him get away with a lot, with as many penalties Neil has gotten, he would have likely been kicked off the team by now under any other coach.
