Backstory: Quartz was a marshal (like a mayor but with more power) of a town near the capital city of Audubon. The king's sister, Gold, who did much of King Vermillion's technical work, decided she would be a good option for Vermillion to marry. She already knew Quartz sister, Umber, who was the lead general of the northern avian army. Quartz quickly agreed, eager to be in a position to influence the decisions of Vermillion and Gold. She soon gave birth to Sunshine. She is not an easy person to live with, due to her manipulative and cold nature.
